Projected BCS Rankings: Boise State and 3 Teams Deserving of No. 1

More than any year I remember the top of the polls are absolutely loaded with teams deserving of the top spot. LSU currently sits on top and certainly deserve it, but they are far from the only ones. 

The following three teams have all accomplished enough this season that they can make a case for being No. 1 as well.

No. 5 Boise State Broncos

All the Broncos can do is sit back and hope teams in front of him lose. They have no remaining regular season games against a team currently in the top 25. 

However, that is not their fault, and it does not change the fact that they are clearly in the argument for the best team in the country.

The possess one of the most efficient and potent offenses in the nation. They have the diversity to beat teams in many ways on offense. They are also a solid defensive club.

Their one game against team in the top 25 they held Georgia to their lowest point total of the season, and that game was in Georgia

No. 2 Alabama

The only thing separating Alabama and LSU from the top spot right now is LSU's opening week victory over Oregon.

Alabama has three wins over ranked opponents, and the closest of those was a 16-point win over Penn State.

This team is strong on offense. They have an outstanding run game, and their defense is second to none.

No. 8 Clemson

Clemson doesn't have the eye-popping stats of some of the other teams, but they are a complete and balanced team that knows how to win.

They also have an impressive resume, and that deserves more credit than it is getting. Three straight weeks they entered games as underdogs against teams in the top 25, and three straight times they won.

This team knows what it takes to win and they got the skill to do it.
