Week 5 College Football Picks: Why Nebraska Will Rebound vs. Ohio State
The Nebraska Huskers will get back on the winning track this weekend.
The Huskers were embarrassed in the Big Ten opener against the Wisconsin Badgers last weekend. They hung with the Badgers for awhile. And, after about 20 minutes of game time, it looked like the Huskers could have a chance winning a Madison.
Then everything went wrong.
Sorry, let me rephrase that.
Taylor Martinez started throwing the ball.
As a fan, I really like watching Martinez play. That being said, he shouldn't do much more than run the ball. When he runs the ball, he is one of the most dangerous players in the country.
Along with Rex Burkhead, Martinez manages one of the best rushing attacks in college football. They just need to trust that rushing attack.
After an embarrassment in Madison, I'm sure Bo Pelini will have the offense back to its smash-mouth style and not even worry about throwing the ball.
Ohio State lost a tough game against Michigan State last week. They will be looking to avenge that loss.
However, Memorial Stadium is a tough place to win.
It is one of the best atmospheres in the country, and the Huskers know how to use the crowd to their advantage. Although the Buckeyes are a good football team, they don't throw the ball well enough to take advantage of Nebraska's biggest flaw (terrible secondary).
The Huskers are not as bad as last week indicates, and they will show that with a convincing win over the Buckeyes this week.
