Auburn vs. Arkansas: Last Minute Spread Info, Line and Predictions

Andrew KulhaOct 7, 2011

There may be nothing better than a big-time SEC matchup, which is exactly what we will be getting as the No. 15 Auburn Tigers meet up with the No. 10 Arkansas Razorbacks.

Both teams have made huge jumps in the rankings after major upset wins, but now they have to prove that they are legitimate by winning two big games in a row. This is nothing short of a big game.

The Tigers just went into South Carolina and upset the Gamecocks to essentially ruin their season. Keep in mind that Auburn is still the defending national champion and they are still very dangerous.

The Razorbacks pulled off a huge come-from-behind win against the Texas A&M Aggies last week, but will need this game to keep up their momentum and prove that they are a legitimate Top 10 team.

Where: Razorback Stadium, Fayetteville, AR

When: Saturday Oct. 8. 7 p.m EST

Watch: ESPN, ESPN3

Spread: Arkansas -10

This is a pretty dangerous spread to bet on. Both teams are very good and I think it may be closer than the spread indicates.

Over/Under: 64

Both teams can put up a lot of points, so I wouldn't be surprised to see this go over.

Key Injuries:

Auburn: Offensive lineman questionable (back), wide receiver Emory Blake doubtful (foot).

Arkansas: Cornerback Issac Madison probable (knee), wide receiver Joe Adams questionable (ribs), cornerback Darius Winston questionable (knee), defensive tackle Robert Thomas doubtful (leg), defensive end Jake Bequette doubtful (knee).

BCS/Top 25 Poll Implications:

No. 15 going up against No. 10 is obviously a huge game as far as the BCS is concerned. Both teams are 4-1, but Auburn is 2-0 in the SEC compared to Arkansas' 0-1 conference record. This game can really set the winner up nicely in the SEC.

Key to Auburn Win:

Running back Michael Dyer is going to have to be "the guy" in this game. He's punched in seven touchdowns and ran for 567 yards so far this season. He'll have to get a few more in order to beat the Razorbacks.

Key to Arkansas Win:

Quarterback Tyler Wilson has been incredible so far, so all he needs to do is keep it up. He's 111-of-172 for 1,517 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions.

Prediction:

Auburn has made a good comeback into BCS relevancy, but the better team is going to win.

Arkansas: 44 Auburn: 35
