Turkey vs. Germany: Istanbul Will Yield Easy Win for Germans in Euro Qualifier

Matt FaulconerOct 7, 2011

The German national team is just too talented to lose to Turkey in Istanbul when the teams collide at 2:30 p.m. EDT today at Turk Telekom Arena.

The Germans have already clinched the group and booked their trip to Ukraine and Poland for the Euro 2010, but they won't slack off in this match.

According to a conversation with Sport1.de via ESPN Soccernet, Germany's general manager insists that they will attempt to win every match in the qualifiers.

"Of course we have already qualified, but we want to end qualifying well with an unbeaten record and 10 wins from 10, if possible.

And above all, it is about sporting fairness. Both Turkey and Belgium still have the chance to finish second in the group.

"
"Therefore, we want to call on our very best performance and end what has been a very good year."

With Germany preparing for this like a must-win match, they should have no problem knocking off Turkey in Istanbul. Even Turkish coach Guus Hiddink admits that the German squad is much better in a conversation with the National Turk.

"

Turkish football has to face the reality. We are not on the same level as Germany. Germany is a team with very few weak points. However, we should not understate our potential. I think we can get a positive result with the home team synergy in Istanbul.

"

The Germans have won all eight matches so far in Euro 2012 qualifying, and have a goal differential of +23. They have been unstoppable, and now Mario Gomez is set to return to the lineup, according to the Times of India. Gomez has been in rare form this year, and the Turkish defenders will have a lot of trouble slowing him down. Expect Gomez to lead Germany to victory in this match.
