College Football Picks Week 6: 3 Spreads to Go All In On
Week 6 of the college football season is now upon us and as we forge further into conference play, it’s time for every team’s true identity to manifest itself.
Over the next few weeks, we’re going to start separating the contenders from the pretenders.
This week, we’ve got a few heavy mismatches between teams we know have the goods and teams we know aren’t going anywhere.
Here’s a look at three big spreads to take advantage of this weekend.
West Virginia (-20.5)
1 of 3Even though they’re the defending Big East champs, there’s really no reason to get excited about this Connecticut team this year.
After losing to Western Michigan at home last weekend, the Huskies will now travel to Morgantown to try to slow down the increasingly dangerous West Virginia offensive attack.
This matchup will only be West Virginia’s second true test of the season, but unlike the first try against LSU, the Mountaineers should pass this one with high-flying offensive colors.
South Carolina (-21)
2 of 3Steve Spurrier has finally grown tired of Stephen Garcia (took him long enough, right?) and he's decided to make a real switch at quarterback.
Connor Shaw now enters the fold and the timing is perfect.
Kentucky ranks ninth in the SEC in total defense and 10th in scoring defense.
It’s about time the Gamecocks start making the most of their offensive weapons like Marcus Lattimore and Alshon Jeffery, and this could be the week they all finally explode.
Oklahoma State (-31)
3 of 3Kansas has resorted to wearing powder blue uniforms in some strange attempt to trick opponents.
The sad part is, the fashion switch still doesn’t change the fact the Jayhawks are devoid of Big 12 quality talent.
What happens when you put the country’s 108th-ranked secondary against Oklahoma State’s lethal passing attack, led by QB Brandon Weeden and WR Justin Blackmon?
I have a feeling Turner Gill doesn’t want to know the answer.
