Week 5: 4 Reasons the Patriots Will Trounce the Jets
1. No. 8 ranked rush versus No. 26 ranked run defense
Surprisingly enough, it probably won’t be Tom Brady’s prolific arm that leads the Patriots to victory. Although he is at a record setting pace in passing yards and touchdown passes, the biggest disparity is between the Jet’s rush defense and the Patriots run offense.
This is not to say Tom Brady won’t have a 300-plus-yard, two-TD game, but we can definitely expect to see a lot of run’s going right at that Jets front line.

2. The Rivalry
Basically, they despise each other. This is a huge rivalry and it also helps when both teams are mentioned in Super Bowl contention. However, the Patriots have Shaun Ellis, and in the past offseason, he was released by the Jets and picked up by the Patriots.
There is going to be some bad blood between him and the organization, and it is going to show during this game. Expect a big night from the Patriots defense that is being criticized for not holding other teams to lower numbers.
3. Home Game
Since Gillette Stadium opened in the beginning of the 2002 season, the Patriots own the NFL's best record at home overall with a 68-14 record. Brady currently has an NFL record of 29 straight wins as a starter in the regular season at home.
The Patriots basically do not lose at home. The last loss with Brady as a starter came in 2006.
4. The Patriots Offense is Overwhelming
Although both the Jets and the Patriots are good teams, the Jets simply cannot keep up with the points Tom Brady is leading his team to. The Patriots allow 24.5 points per game while the Jets allow 23.8 points per game.
However, the Patriots put up 33.8 points per game while the Jets put up a mere 25.0 points. The Jet haven’t even put up 33 points this entire season. The Patriots will put up too many points for the Jets to recover from.
