2011 Fantasy Football QB Rankings: NFL Week 5

Ryan LesterOct 4, 2011

The quarterbacks continue to put up monster numbers. Here is the LestersLegends Week 5 fantasy quarterback rankings:

1.  Aaron Rodgers at Atlanta: Showed last week why he’s the No. 1 QB (four rush, two pass TDs). He faces an Atlanta team that couldn’t keep T-Jack in check.

2.  Michael Vick at Buffalo: Showed why he’s the most explosive QB (416 passing, 75 rushing) last week. Buffalo is giving up 275.5 passing yards per game.

3.  Drew Brees at Carolina: Averaging 350-plus yards and 2.5 touchdowns per game.

4.  Tom Brady vs. New  York Jets: Brady took a backseat to the running game last week, but the Pats can’t drop another divisional game, so it’s Tom time.

5.  Philip Rivers at Denver: Denver is giving up 275 passing yards and 2.25 passing TDs per game. Rivers is averaging 321.5 YPG.

6.  Cam Newton vs. New Orleans: Has gone for 374 or more yards in three of four games. Saints giving up 254 yards and two TDs per game.

7.  Matt Ryan vs. Green Bay: Packers are giving up an insane 335.8 passing yards per game. Ryan is averaging 283.8 yards and 1.5 TDs per game.

8. Matthew Stafford vs. Chicago: Stafford and Megatron can’t keep hooking up two times a game can they? Bears are allowing 301.5 YPG.

9. Eli Manning vs. Seattle: Favorable early schedule continues. He’s thrown eight TDs with two picks with a 105.6 passer rating proving the preseason is meaningless.

10. Mark Sanchez at New England: As good as Brady has been, their defense is giving up roughly the same amount of passing yards (368.8 per game).

11. Josh Freeman at San Francisco: Niners are giving up 284 yards per game.

12. Ryan Fitzpatrick vs. Philadelphia: They aren’t the Dream Team. They struggled stopping Alex Smith. Still the potential is there, making Fitzpatrick a low-end QB1.

13. Kevin Kolb at Minnesota: Vikings are giving up 286.3 yards per game. He continues to get the ball to Larry Fitzgerald.

14. Ben Roethlisberger vs. Tennessee: He’s banged up (foot). Titans are only allowing 212 yards per game. He’s not throwing TDs. Not a good fantasy recipe.

15. Matt Hasselbeck at Pittsburgh: Steelers are allowing just 157.5 YPG, but Hasselbeck and the Titans’ passing game is rolling.

16. Jay Cutler at Detroit: He’s played well against Detroit historically, but this is a different team. Their O-line will struggle to contain Suh and Co.

17. Matt Schaub vs. Oakland: Andre Johnson will likely miss the game and Arian Foster is back, which will likely limit the passing game.

18. Kyle Orton vs. San Diego: Chargers giving up just 196.3 yards per game. Plus, Tim Tebow could get some red zone looks.

19. Jason Campbell at Houston: He’s been as inconsistent as they come statistically. He puts up his best numbers in losses, which is what the Raiders are likely starting at.

20. Andy Dalton at Jacksonville: Has developed a nice rapport with fellow rookie A.J. Green. He’s a low-end QB2 in a bye week.
