Oregon Ducks Retro Jersey: Latest Look Reminds Fans of Simple, Sleek Look
For once the Oregon Ducks decided to give their fans a history lesson with their latest jerseys.
The team with the most cutting edge uniforms in college football—and all of sports—is typically showing off sleek, unique unis that look like they're from the future.
When the CEO of Nike went to your school, that’s the kind of luxuries you can have.
Now the Ducks have decided to go back to their roots with the duds they’ll be sporting this Thursday against the California Bears.
They are bringing back the old Duck logo that looks like Donald Duck on the shoulder of the jersey. The logo looks like it’s straight out of the 1980’s (that’s because it is, this specific Ducks logo was first worn in ’85.) Other than that, there isn’t a lot going on with the jersey. It’s almost all green with the numbers outlined in a dark yellow.
I like everything about it. It’s important to remind fans of old looks from the program and the Ducks logo is a great way to do it. It’s not too busy on the front and it’s a unique look in today’s college football world.
After having all of the futuristic looks, it’s a refreshing change.
The Cal Bears shouldn’t get use to the front of the jerseys because they’ll be catching the speedy Ducks from behind. Oregon hasn’t lost a home game since 2008 and currently hold a 18-game winning streak at Autzen Stadium.
Oregon RB LaMichael James is currently the leading rusher in college football and is coming off a game against Arizona where he ran for a school record 288 yards. It will be interesting to see how he does against the Cal run defense that is currently ranked ninth in the nation.
Expect Ducks QB Darron Thomas to be the difference as Oregon comfortably wins and will be looking great in their retro jersey’s doing it.
