Chad Henne Injury: Why Matt Moore Is a Better Option Than Dolphins Starting QB
It might not be the worst thing in the world for the Miami Dolphins to have Matt Moore taking over for Chad Henne in the early going against San Diego.
The Dolphins’ starter at quarterback, Henne has as many interceptions (four) as touchdowns (this year). That was before a shoulder injury forced him to the sideline, then into the locker room.
He made it back to the sideline, but his return is listed as questionable. And, given, that he came into the game with the 20th-best quarterback ranking at 82.4, maybe a new look is in order. His ranking Sunday before the injury was at 53.1 thanks to the interception.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Moore took over after Henne was hit while scrambling midway through the first period and immediately threw for 31 yards on his first pass attempt and hit on three of his first four attempts. One other completion and three runs by his backs set up a game-tying touchdown burst by Lex Hilliard.
Admittedly, Moore doesn’t have much experience after being drafted out of Oregon State four years ago, appearing in 22 games for the Carolina Panthers since then before signing with the Dolphins.
It was no accident that he went to the Dolphins. Head coach Tony Sparano was at Dallas in 2007 as an assistant when Moore showed up and made an immediate impression, even if he didn’t make the roster.
Henne has been somewhat better this year, having come into the season with a 32-game passer rating of 75.3. But with the Dolphins starting the season winless in their first three games, Miami might have gone with Moore sooner rather than later anyway.
