College Football Recruiting 2012: Predicting the Top Commitments in October
October is here and we might see several big names come off the board.
It's always tough to make in-season commitment predictions because college coaches are a bit more focused on their game preparations each week and high school players are trying to win district and state titles for their prep teams.
However, I'm going to make several calls on some big names that could announce before Halloween has passed.
4. Jordan Diamond, OT
1 of 4I thought Michigan was the big leader for Diamond, but Wisconsin seems to have made a huge impression on him and has stayed in his ear.
With the Badgers having such a dominant season so far, a high ranking, Big Ten and national title contention status and a great history of offensive line play, I wouldn't be shocked to see Diamond pledge to be a Badger.
3. Jordan Jenkins, DE
2 of 4The Freak has slightly tried to deny it, but this race is down to Florida and Alabama. He does, however, admit to 'Bama being the leader at the moment.
Jenkins took a trip to Florida this past weekend to see them play none other than Alabama.
With the race being so close and down to the Gators and Tide, this could be the month Jenkins makes a decision.
2. Kent Taylor, TE
3 of 4This is a call straight from the horse's mouth, as Taylor has stated he will be announcing on October 27th.
He's viewed as the nation's top TE prospect and stands 6'5", 215-pounds with great play speed and natural ball skills.
Taylor will decide between Florida, Penn State, Florida State and Georgia.
1. Rushel Shell, RB
4 of 4Shell is likely to announce this month and perhaps could be targeting October 14th as his announcement date.
He's a five-star RB prospect that I feel could impact early as a true freshman. Shell has offers from schools like Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Pitt and Florida.
I think he will announce for Pitt.
