Clemson vs. Virginia Tech: Clemson Football Is Back on the Map
Since when has Clemson football been relevant?
Not only do they have one of the sweetest uniforms in college football, but apparently now they are one of the better teams in college football.
I didn't see it coming, and I'm not sure many others did, but personally I love it.
This can be nothing but good for college football.
Is is just me or are people getting somewhat sick of all the generic big-name programs being in at the end each year?
We always know schools like Oklahoma, LSU and Alabama will be in the mix year after year, and that normally doesn't change.
I think that sometimes turns people away from college football.
Conversely, there is college basketball, where we've seen teams like Butler and George Mason make extremely deep runs in the tournament.
People seem to love and embrace those teams.
I'm not saying that Clemson is some kind of Cinderella school, but what I am saying is that it is nice to see those orange jerseys relevant again.
They got another huge win against No. 11 ranked Virginia Tech, and that will undoubtedly move them up the rankings just a little bit more. The Associated Press via ESPN recaps the big win:
"Tajh Boyd and No. 13 Clemson became the first Atlantic Coast Conference team to beat ranked teams three weeks in a row, and did it resoundingly with a 23-3 victory against No. 11 Virginia Tech on Saturday.

Boyd, a Virginia native recruited by the Hokies, threw for a touchdown and dissected a top-10 defense for the second week in a row in snapping the Hokies' 12-game ACC winning streak.
The Tigers got rushing touchdowns from Andre Ellington and Mike Bellamy and finished with 323 yards against a defense that was ranked fourth nationally, allowing just 231 yards per game.
The Hokies (4-1) had a miserable night offensively, gaining 258 yards.
The Tigers led 10-3 at halftime and doubled the edge quickly after halftime.
Following an 11-yard punt by Scott Demler, who dropped the ball while rolling toward a rugby style kick and them seemed to kick the end of the ball, Boyd hit Jaron Brown for 27 yards. Andre Ellington ran for 7 and Boyd found Dwayne Allen on the next play for a 32-yard touchdown.
Allen got inside rover Eddie Whitley on the play and made it look easy.
Boyd finished 13 for 32 for 204 yards, the touchdown and one interception.
The rest of the half featured drive after drive that started, then stopped for the Hokies, and when they came up short on a fourth-and-4 from the Tigers 12, Clemson put the game away.
"
My friends, Clemson is not just relevant again, they are contenders. They have one of the more explosive quarterbacks in college football and a defense that can shut down just about anybody.
They've now beaten three big-time programs in a row, and find themselves continuing to climb up the rankings.
It's very possible that we are looking at a team that can win the ACC, and from there, anything is possible.
They have big-time matchups against Georgia Tech and a game at South Carolina to end the year, and if they can get those two wins I wouldn't be surprised to see the Tigers undefeated when all is said and done.
Could we see those bright orange jerseys running onto the field in the BCS Championship game?
It would be a stretch, but I think the college football world is learning not to count Clemson out.
They're back on the map, and it's oh so good.
