College Football Rankings 2011: Baylor and 3 Teams That Will Plummet
If you are a fan of one of the following three teams, I'm sorry. You had to watch your team lose, and now you are going to have to watch them plummet down the rankings. Read on...if you dare.
No. 15 Baylor Bears
Baylor lost a thrilling game to Kansas State 36-35. Kansas State scored ten unanswered fourth quarter points for the come from behind victory.
Kansas State is a solid team, and Baylor was on the road. However, K State was not in the top 25 and voters are not going to be impressed with Baylor's late collapse. It is going to cost them.
Projected Rank: 22
No. 16 South Florida
South Florida was downright embarrassed. They lost 44-17 to Pitt. Keep in mind this is a Pitt team that entered the game 2-2.
South Florida entered halftime down just 20-17, and then played about as bad a half of football as a team could possibly play.
Voters are going to be thoroughly dismayed by this performance.
Projected Rank: Not Ranked
No. 11 Virginia Tech
This game is going on as I type. There is three minutes left in the third quarter and the Hokies trail 17-3. There is enough time for them to come back, but they way they have looked, they have no chance.
Virginia Tech self-destructed in the first half with two turnovers and their offense has looked completely out of sorts in the second half.
There is no shame in losing to No. 13 Clemson. This will be their third straight win vs. a ranked opponent, but voters are not going to like the Hokies anemic offense.
Projected Rank: 19
