Chris HumphreyOct 1, 2011

With four weeks of the 2011 season in the books, Top 25 programs have shown what kind of teams they will be in this season.

LSU and Oklahoma have laid their claim on being the teams to beat this season with fantastic starts to 2011 with big wins over Oregon and Florida State, respectively.

While the teams at the top of the rankings are very well known for what they can do, the following slideshow will give some teams that have popped up on the national radar as programs that may make a bigger impact this season than what was expected in August.

Clemson Tigers

1 of 3

Current Record: 4-0

Last Game: 35-28 win over North Carolina

The Ramblin’ Wreck has been rolling so far this season in 2011 with their triple option offense leading the country in scoring as the team has scored at least 35 or more points in their four games.

The Yellow Jackets got their first marquee win of the season last week as Georgia Tech outscored and held on for a 35-28 win against the North Carolina Tarheels in Atlanta after some blowouts in the first three weeks of the season.

Michigan Wolverines

2 of 3

Current Record: 5-0

Last Game: 58-0 win over Minnesota

After several disappointing seasons under Rich Rodriguez in Ann Arbor, new Michigan coach Brady Hoke has wasted no time in getting the Wolverines to 5-0 in his first season after coming from San Diego State.

The key reason for the early 2011 success for the men in Maize and Blue would have to be the dynamic play of Heisman candidate Denard Robinson, who has already accounted for 11 touchdowns and more than 1000 total yards in the first five games of the season.

Also, the Wolverines defense has been playing lights out so far in 2011 only giving up 12 points a game in addition to a strong running game that averages 270 a game for ninth in the country.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
