Manchester United: Ashley Young Proving To Be Best Summer Signing

Manchester United winger Ashley Young is proving to be the best summer signing of the English Premier League, and has arguably been the most valuable player in the Red Devils' great start to the season.

Young signed from Aston Villa for an £18 million transfer fee over the summer, and has given United another real attacking threat on the wings, with Portuguese winger Nani occupying the opposite side.

Not only does Young set up teammates such as Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez very well, he scores many goals himself.

Young has scored two goals with five assists in six Premier League games this season, and his pace has given opposing defenders real trouble.

One thing Young has given Manchester United is a hunger for trophies. This may seem weird since everyone looks to be hungry for trophies at Old Trafford, but unlike many of his teammates, Young hasn't won anything in his career at the club level.

No league titles, no FA Cup triumphs or Carling Cup victories. Young is hungry to prove he's a big-game player, and his passionate energy to win silverware will boost his teammates intensity and confidence.

Young's great relationship with Rooney on the field for United and England has really paid dividends for the club, and the two of them have the ability to be a top combo in all of Europe.
