AP and Coaches' Poll: 4 Teams That Are Always Overvalued in the Polls
The AP Top 25 Poll and USA Today Coaches' Poll has included some of the greatest college football teams of the year.
There are definitely a few surprises and then there are the teams we expect to be there every year, but some of the teams that are currently ranked always seem to get the benefit of the doubt from the voters.
Here are some of the teams that are overvalued in the polls.

Florida State Seminoles
1 of 4I understand that Florida State was a National Championship contender coming into the season, and all of the hype was that Florida State is back and Jimbo Fisher is taking this program back to the glory days.
Fact is, they aren't quite there yet.
Florida State lost to the Oklahoma Sooners, which was cool—they are one of the top teams this season and that was a respectable loss. However, they lost to the Clemson Tigers the very next week.
Now we have a problem.
This team should not still be ranked in the polls.
You can make a case that they were using a freshman quarterback and were still competitive. But facts are facts, and the Seminoles lost two games straight. Not our problem.
Almost any other team would have fallen out of the rankings, but Florida State gets a pass for whatever reason.
Texas Longhorns
2 of 4Other than Texas fans, have the Texas Longhorns impressed you at all this season?
This team nearly lost to BYU and let UCLA keep up with them for most of the game. You can say they still won their games, but USC was kicked out of the poll for keeping games close against Utah and Minnesota.
So, what is the excuse for Texas?
Is it because Mack Brown is a likable guy, or is it the cool story with Case McCoy replacing his brother?
Regardless of what the voters see, I prefer that the teams in the Top 25 prove something to me before they sneak into the rankings.
Boise State Broncos
3 of 4I probably like Boise State more than all of you. I enjoy watching a team come up and make something of themselves. I also enjoy watching a team full of nobodies come together and play as a team.
But realistically, it's hard to put the Broncos in the Top 5 with the schedule they play.
I do think that, if they end up going undefeated, they should have a shot at the National Championship. But I also think that wins against UNLV, Wyoming and Colorado State don't make you a Top 5 team.
Kellen Moore is a great college quarterback and I'm sure everyone enjoys watching them play, regardless of whether they want to admit it or not.
But Boise State is overvalued.
Oklahoma Sooners
4 of 4This is strictly for the USA Today Coaches' Poll.
How is this Oklahoma team still No.1 overall? Can anybody make a good argument? I haven't heard one yet.
Sure, they have one of the most talented teams in the country and a proven winner with their head coach. But struggling against Florida State in the second half against a freshman quarterback and barely holding on against Missouri doesn't make you the best team.
Meanwhile, you have the LSU Tigers, currently ranked No. 3, who have won three games against Top 25 teams—all on the road. That's right—a trip to Mountaineer Field and a win over West Virginia didn't do anything for them in the Coaches' Polls.
These voters need to seriously start voting with what they see with their eyes and not the potential they see in the teams. It's not what the team is capable of doing, it's what they have done so far that should matter.
LSU has proven the most of any team in the country right now, and they deserve to be the No.1 team.
