College Football: Power Ranking All 120 FBS Teams Heading into Week 6

Don't look now college football fans, but we are already heading into Week 6 of the season. 

We are now beginning to see more and more conference battles and teams who may not have started conference play will do so this week.

After a great week of football behind us, here is a look at how all the teams in the nation stack up against each other. 

No. 120: New Mexico

Record: 0-5

Next Game: at Nevada

Quick Note: New Mexico will not lose this week, they have a bye week before going to Nevada. That's about as good as it gets.

No. 119: Miami (Ohio)

Record: 0-4

Next Game: Army

Quick Note: After being shutout by Cincinnati things can only get better. Right?

No. 118: Oregon State

Record: 0-4

Next Game: Arizona

Quick Note: Either Arizona or Oregon State will see their four game losing streak come to an end. Either way the fans lose.

No. 117: UAB

Record: 0-4

Next Game: Mississippi State

Quick Note: A one point loss at Troy is tough to swallow. Mississippi State will not take it easy on UAB, sending them to 0-5.

No. 116: Western Kentucky

Record: 0-4

Next Game: at Middle Tennessee

Quick Note: Western Kentucky heads on the road for a Thursday night game and is in desperate need of a win.

No. 115: Florida Atlantic

Record: 0-4

Next Game: at North Texas

Quick Note: The season continues to get away from Florida Atlantic as they lost this past week to UL Lafayette. A game at North Texas will likely yield the same result.

No. 114: Akron

Record: 1-4

Next Game: FIU

Quick Note: After a loss to Eastern Michigan, Akron will be going up against a decent FIU team that should have no issues with the Zips.

No. 113: Middle Tennessee

Record: 1-3

Next Game: Western Kentucky

Quick Note: The celebration from their first win of the season must be short lived as the Blue Raiders must get ready for Western Kentucky on a short week.

No. 112: Kent State

Record: 1-4

Next Game: at Northern Illinois

Quick Note: A week after winning their first game of the season, Kent State could not pull out a win at Ohio. They stay on the road this week against Northern Illinois.

No. 111: Louisiana Tech

Record: 1-4

Next Game: at Idaho

Quick Note: Make it three straight losses for Louisiana Tech. Their total may very well go to five this week at Idaho.

No. 110: North Texas

Record: 1-4

Next Game: Florida Atlantic

Quick Note: Last week's momentum was short lived as North Texas dropped this week's game to Tulsa. Things get a bit easier as they face Florida Atlantic at home this week.

No. 109: Idaho

Next Game: Louisiana Tech

Quick Note: After a tough loss in overtime at Virginia, the Vandals must rebound as they head home to face Louisiana Tech.

No. 108: UNLV

Record: 1-3

Next Game: at Nevada

Quick Note: After having a week off to try and get things figured out, the Rebels hit on the road to take on another team in desperate need of a win, Nevada.

No. 107: UL Monroe

Next Game: Arkansas State

Quick Note: UL Monroe is another team coming off of a bye week and should hopefully get back to winning against Arkansas State.

Next Game: at Rice

Quick Note: Close but not close enough against Middle Tennessee last week. Memphis will now have to head back on the road to play a Rice team that should win.

Next Game: Ohio

Quick Note: Turner Gill and that magical season are a distant memory for the Bulls as they are 1-4. It looking like things will not be much better than last year.

Next Game: Memphis

Quick Note: After back to back losses, Rice hopes that a game against Memphis helps them get back on the winning track.

No. 103: East Carolina

Next Game: at Houston

Quick Note: East Carolina has played a rough schedule to start the year and things do not get easier as they go on the road to play a red hot Houston Cougar team. 

No. 102: Marshall

Record: 2-3

Next Game: at UCF

Quick Note: This past week, Marshall played a great road game against Louisville, picking up a huge win. Can then keep that momentum going this week?

No. 101: San Jose State

Record: 2-3

Next Game: at BYU

Quick Note: Don't look now but San Jose State has won two straight. Defeating BYU on the road is much different than beating teams like Colorado State or New Mexico State.

No. 100: New Mexico State

Record: 2-3

Next Game: Idaho

Quick Note: In a game against rival New Mexico, New Mexico State earned a nice win before heading into their bye week.

No. 99: Tulsa

Record: 2-3

Next Game: UAB

Quick Note: After a win this past week, Tulsa gets a bye week and should be able to pull their record even on the 15th when they face UAB.

No. 98: Troy

Record: 2-2

Next Game: UL Lafayette

Quick Note: After starting the season with two straight losses, the Trojans have turned things around with two straight wins.

No. 97: Boston College

Record: 1-4

Next Game: at Clemson

Quick Note: Things continue to get worse for the Eagles as they now have to go on the road to face a red hot Clemson team.

No. 96: Minnesota

Record: 1-4

Next Game: at Purdue

Quick Note: Minnesota could not have played worse at Michigan. You would have to expect a better effort at Purdue but it may not result in a win.

No. 95: Indiana

Record: 1-4

Next Game: Illinois

Quick Note: Indiana played a tough game against Penn State but still were unable to come out with a win. This week, they play a hot Illinois team that is looking to keep winning. 

No. 94: Northern Illinois

Record: 2-3

Next Game: Kent State

Quick Note: After a tough loss on the road, Northern Illinois returns home looking to bounce back against Kent State. 

No. 93: Central Michigan

Record: 2-3

Next Game: at NC State

Quick Note: Central Michigan did a nice job bringing their three game losing streak to an end by beating Northern Illinois.

No. 92: Arizona

Record: 1-4

Next Game: at Oregon State

Quick Note: Four straight losses and the Wildcats have hit rock bottom. If they lose to the Beavers this week, Mike Stoops may be looking for a new job. 

No. 91: Utah State

Record: 1-3

Next Game: Wyoming

Quick Note: Utah State may have the worst luck and closing ability in the nation. Besides Texas A&M, no team is better known for collapsing in the second half than the Aggies. 

No. 90: Army

Record: 2-3

Next Game: at Miami of Ohio

Quick Note: The Black Knights are coming off a huge win over Tulane and will hit on the road to take on Miami of Ohio. 

No. 89: Nevada

Record: 1-3

Next Game: UNLV

Quick Note: Unlike last year, Nevada did not have the firepower to keep up with Boise State this year and are still in search of their second win of the season. 

No. 88: Arkansas State

Record: 3-2

Next Game: at UL Monroe

Quick Note: Surprisingly, Arkansas State has jumped out to a good start and will look to build on that in this week's road game. 

No. 87: Connecticut

Record: 2-3

Next Game: at West Virginia

Quick Note: Connecticut has failed to get off to a good start and will likely see things get worse before they get better when they play WVU this week. 

No. 86: Colorado

Record: 1-4

Next Game: at Stanford

Quick Note: Can things get much worse than losing to Washington State? Yes, playing Andrew Luck the next week. 

No. 85: Duke

Record: 3-2

Next Game: Florida State

Quick Note: It has been a long time since Duke has seen a three game win streak but that is what they are currently riding. Four could be tough against Florida State. 

No. 84: UTEP

Record: 2-3

Next Game: at Tulane

Quick Note: After a win against New Mexico State, UTEP has dropped two straight games and will need their defense to step up as they have allowed 101 points over the past two games. 

No. 83: Eastern Michigan

Record: 3-2

Next Game: Akron

Quick Note: After losing two straight games, the slide came to an end against Akron. Don't look now but the Eagles have three wins this season. 

No. 82: UCLA

Record: 2-3

Next Game: Washington State

Quick Note: UCLA cannot seem to put together back to back solid performances, which continued against Stanford. A game against Washington State will not be as easy as the Bruins may be used to.  

No. 81: Toledo

Record: 2-3

Next Game: Eastern Michigan

Quick Note: After some tough losses, Toledo got a surprising road win over Temple and will face a surprising Eastern Michigan team. 

No. 80: Kentucky

Record: 2-3

Next Game: at South Carolina

Quick Note: Kentucky got off to a fast start to the season but have lost three straight. You can be certain that South Carolina will be ready to make it four in a row. 

No. 79: Western Michigan

Record: 3-2

Next Game: Bowling Green

Quick Note: Western Michigan has been a very up and down team. This past week they earned a huge win over Connecticut and will look for two straight when they play Bowling Green. 

No. 78: UCF

Record: 2-2

Next Game: Marshall

Quick Note: After getting a week to rest and figure out how to stop a two game losing streak, UCF goes out against Marshall this week. 

No. 77: Ole Miss

Record: 2-3

Next Game: Alabama

Quick Note: After a big road win over Fresno State, Ole Miss gets two weeks to try and figure out how they can compete with the Crimson Tide. 

No. 76: Louisville

Record: 2-2

Next Game: at North Carolina

Quick Note: This past week Louisville dropped a game they had no business losing and now find themselves at 2-2. They have a road trip to North Carolina in front of them.  

No. 75: Colorado State

Record: 3-2

Next Game: Boise State

Quick Note: Luckily for Colorado State they now have two weeks to bounce back from a loss and figure out how to slow down Kellen Moore. 

No. 74: Bowling Green

Record: 3-2

Next Game: at Western Michigan

Quick Note: After beating Miami of Ohio, Bowling Green got roughed up against West Virginia and needs to refocus for their game against Western Michigan. 

No. 73: Kansas

Record: 2-2

Next Game: at Oklahoma State

Quick Note: Kansas jumped out to a 2-0 record but two straight losses have set them back. It's about to become three this week against the Cowboys. 

No. 72: Tulane

Record: 2-3

Next Game: Syracuse

Quick Note: Back to back poor defense efforts have led to two straight losses. If they do not get things fixed, Syracuse will make it three. 

No. 71: Ball State

Record: 3-2

Next Game: Temple

Quick Note: After being fed to the wolves against Oklahoma, Ball State returns home and hopes to get back on track against Temple. 

No. 70: UL Lafayette

Record: 4-1

Next Game: Troy

Quick Note: UL Lafayette is riding a four game winning streak. Don't look now but it should become five this week. 

No. 69: NC State

Record: 2-3

Next Game: Central Michigan

Quick Note: Life without Russell Wilson continues to be hard, but the Wolfpack have a chance to get back to .500 play this week against Central Michigan. 

No. 68: Fresno State

Record: 2-3

Next Game: Boise State

Quick Note: Things weren't supposed to go this way for Pat Hill's Bulldogs. They are under .500 and appear to be heading to loss number four this week. 

No. 67: Northwestern

Record: 2-2

Next Game: Michigan

Quick Note: After a promising start to the year, Northwestern has dropped two straight and must figure out how to stop the losing streak and Denard Robinson this week. 

No. 66: Miami

Record: 2-2

Next Game: at West Virginia

Quick Note: Miami's up and down play continues. When they head to Blacksburg, both teams will be in desperate need of a win. 

No. 65: Maryland

Record: 2-2

Next Game: at Georgia Tech

Quick Note: Maryland's two game losing streak has come to an end but the talent level takes a huge step up this week when they hit the road to play Georgia Tech. 

No. 64: Mississippi State

Record: 2-3

Next Game: at UAB

Quick Note: After a tough loss to Georgia, Dan Mullens hopes to right the ship again against UAB this week. 

No. 63: Missouri

Record: 2-2

Next Game: at Kansas State

Quick Note: After getting a week off to recover from their loss to Oklahoma, Missouri will need to be ready as the Wildcats are one of the surprise teams thus far.

No. 62: Virginia

Record: 3-2

Next Game: Georgia Tech

Quick Note: After an overtime win over Idaho, Virginia gets the week off and needs to make sure they are prepared for Georgia Tech's offensive attack. 

No. 61: Purdue

Record: 2-2

Next Game: Minnesota

Quick Note: After a rough loss to the Irish, the Boilermakers should be able to get back on track with a game against the Golden Gophers at home. 

No. 60: Navy

Record: 2-2

Next Game: Southern Miss

Quick Note: Army will need to get back to basics this week against Southern Miss. A very uncharacteristic penalty cost them their game against Air Force. 

No. 59: BYU

Record: 3-2

Next Game: San Jose State

Quick Note: It will be interesting to see how BYU builds off their emotional win over Utah State. They could easily be 2-3. 

No. 58: Utah

Record: 2-2

Next Game: Arizona State

Quick Note: So far, the Utah Utes have yet to win a Pac-12 conference game. That task will not get much easier when they go up against the Sun Devils.

No. 57: Pittsburgh

Record: 3-2

Next Game: at Rutgers

Quick Note: If Pittsburgh plays the remainder of the season the way they did against South Florida, they could compete with West Virginia for the conference title. 

No. 56: Wyoming

Record: 3-1

Next Game: at Utah State

Quick Note: After getting a bye week to rest up from their loss against Nebraska, Wyoming returns to play against Utah State, who has not been able to finish off teams so far this year. 

No. 55: Hawaii

Record: 3-2

Next Game: at San Jose State

Quick Note: After a surprising loss to UNLV, Hawaii has bounced back with two straight wins and will look to make it three on the road this week. 

No. 54: Washington State

Record: 3-1

Next Game: at UCLA

Quick Note: Washington State continues to improve by beating Colorado in conference play this past week. It is be interesting to see how far they have come since last year. 

No. 53: Rutgers

Record: 3-1

Next Game: Pitt

Quick Note: With two straight wins, the Scarlet Knights are on a bit of a roll. They face a Pitt team that dominated its previous game against South Florida. 

No. 52: Wake Forest

Record: 3-1

Next Game: Florida State

Quick Note: If not for a dramatic comeback by Syracuse, Wake Forest would be undefeated. We will see how far they have come this year when they go up against Florida State. 

No. 51: Syracuse

Record: 3-2

Next Game: at Tulane

Quick Note: The past two weeks have seen the Orange feel the highs of an overtime win and the lows of an overtime loss. This week they head to Tulane, trying to avoid a two game losing streak. 

No. 50: Temple

Record: 3-2

Next Game: at Ball State

Quick Note: After a promising start to the season, Temple had a huge letdown against Toledo and must get things back together for their game at Ball State.

No. 49: Air Force

Record: 3-1

Next Game: at Notre Dame

Quick Note: This past week's game against Navy was crazy as Air Force was able to hold on in overtime. This week will be tough but Air Force does have the talent to hang with the Irish. 

No. 48: FIU

Record: 3-2

Next Game: at Akron

Quick Note: FIU was another team to start out hot, jumping out to a 3-0 record. But they have cooled off and want to bring their drought to a stop against Akron this week.  

No. 47: Ohio

Record: 4-1

Next Game: at Buffalo

Quick Note: After losing on the road to Buffalo, Ohio bounced back and took out Kent State. A win against Buffalo will put them at 5-1 and in a great spot at the half way point. 

No. 46: TCU

Record: 3-2

Next Game: at San Diego State

Quick Note: As the weeks go on, it is clear that TCU can score points but struggle to keep points off the board. It will not get much easier this week against San Diego State.

No. 45: Ohio State

Record: 3-2

Next Game: at Nebraska

Quick Note: Ohio State finds themselves in uncharted territories as they have lost two of their first five games and will likely dip to 3-3 after their game in Lincoln.

No. 44: Cal

Record: 3-1

Next Game: at Oregon

Quick Note: After getting last week off, Cal makes the trip North to Oregon on Thursday night. Last time Cal went to Eugene, they left with a 41-3 loss but with gave Oregon plenty of difficulty. 

No. 43: Cincinnati

Record: 4-1

Next Game: Louisville

Quick Note: Cincinnati has won three straight and is coming off of a shutout over Miami of Ohio. The Bearcats now have a week off to prepare for the Louisville Cardinals. 

No. 42: Southern Miss

Record: 4-1

Next Game: at Navy

Quick Note: Southern Miss is clicking offensively but it will be interesting to see if their defense can handle the Navy attack. 

No. 41: Iowa

Record: 3-1

Next Game: at Penn State

Quick Note: After back to back wins, Iowa had this past week off. They head to Penn State to kick off their conference schedule. 

No. 40: Vanderbilt

Record: 3-1

Next Game: at Alabama

Quick Note: Vanderbilt continues a tough three game stretch as they now hit the road to take on the Crimson Tide. Things don't get much easier next week when they face Georgia. 

No. 39: San Diego State

Record: 3-1

Next Game: TCU

Quick Note: After losing to former coach Brady Hoke, San Diego State got the week off and now take on a TCU team that just lost at home to SMU. 

No. 38: North Carolina

Record: 4-1

Next Game: Louisville

Quick Note: After losing to Georgia Tech, the Tar Heels rebounded with a victory over East Carolina and return home with a chance to go 5-1 before playing Miami. 

No. 37: Iowa State

Record: 3-1

Next Game: at Baylor

Quick Note: After a 3-0 start, the Cyclones came crashing down to Earth as the Longhorns dominated them this past week. Things will not get easier as they will face an angry Baylor team.

No. 36: Washington

Record: 4-1

Next Game: Colorado

Quick Note: Quietly out in the northwest, Washington has gotten off to a 4-1 start and now has two weeks to prepare for Colorado before their schedule picks up.  

No. 35: SMU

Record: 4-1

Next Game: UCF

Quick Note: After losing in the opening week of the season, SMU has posted four straight victories including a road win this past week against TCU. They get this week off to prepare for UCF. 

No. 34: Notre Dame

Record: 3-2

Next Game: Air Force

Quick Note: After an awful start to the season, Notre Dame has turned things around with three straight wins. They need to make sure they don't look past Air Force to their game with USC. 

No. 33: Tennessee

Record: 3-1

Next Game: Georgia

Quick Note: Tyler Bray continues to lead the Vols and after an impressive performance against Buffalo. Tennessee will need everything he has to beat Georgia.

No. 32: Penn State

Record: 4-1

Next Game: Iowa

Quick Note: After an unimpressive win on the road against Indiana, Penn State returns home for a big game against the Hawkeyes.

No. 31: USC

Record: 4-1

Next Game: at Cal

Quick Note: USC had its best performance against Arizona this past week and will have some extra time off to prepare for their game against Cal. 

No. 30: Georgia

Record: 3-2

Next Game: at Tennessee

Quick Note: After an awful start to the season, Georgia has rebounded to win three straight games and now has a huge test as they head to Tennessee this week.

No. 29: Texas Tech

Record: 4-0

Next Game: Texas A&M 

Quick Note: While the start of the season has not provided many challenges, Texas Tech will face an extremely frustrated Aggies team that has blown two straight second half leads. 

No. 28: Houston

Record: 5-0

Next Game: East Carolina

Quick Note: Very quietly, Case Keenum has helped led the Cougars to a 5-0 record and will look to go 6-0 when they face the East Carolina Pirates.

No. 27: Michigan State

Record: 4-1

Next Game: Michigan

Quick Note: After an impressive win on the road against Ohio State, Michigan State gets two weeks to prepare for in-state rival Michigan.

No. 26: South Florida

Record: 4-1

Next Game: at Connecticut

Quick Note: After an extremely impressive start to the season, South Florida went to Pitt and played their worst game so far. South Florida must rebound quickly and make sure that the loss does not cost them against the Huskies.

No. 25: Baylor

Record: 3-1

Next Game: Iowa State

Quick Note: After cracking the top 15, Baylor's offense could not bail out its defense as they lost 36-35. Look for the Bears to get back on track against Iowa State.

No. 24: Texas A&M

Record: 2-2

Next Game: at Texas Tech

Quick Note: The second half meltdowns continued this past week as Texas A&M blew an 18 point lead. They look to stop the bleeding this week against Texas Tech.

No. 23: Florida State

Record: 2-2

Next Game: at Wake Forest

Quick Note: After back to back tough losses, Florida State is back in action and will look to end their current slide on the road against Wake Forest.

No. 22: Arizona State

Record: 4-1

Next Game: at Utah

Quick Note: After sleepwalking through the start of their game against Oregon State, ASU finally turned it around but needs to make sure they don't look past Utah with an upcoming game at Oregon.

No. 21: Kansas State

Record: 4-0

Next Game: Missouri

Quick Note: Kansas State came up with its best performance of the season despite the unbelievable job by Robert Griffin. The Wildcats will look to keep the wheels rolling this week against Missouri.

No. 20: Illinois

Record: 5-0

Next Game: at Indiana

Quick Note: One of the more surprising undefeated teams is the Illinois Fighting Illini. The Illini are 5-0 and with a game against Indiana, there is no reason they should not go to 6-0.

No. 19: Virginia Tech

Record: 4-1

Next Game: Miami

Quick Note: Virginia Tech was the most recent victim on Clemson's tear through their schedule. The Hokies played a very uninspired home game and must get refocused for the Hurricanes this week.

No. 18: Auburn

Record: 4-1

Next Game: at Arkansas

Quick Note: While many believed that Auburn would be long gone by now, they currently find themselves 4-1 with another chance to prove the doubters wrong when they play at Arkansas.

No. 17: South Carolina

Record: 4-1

Next Game: Kentucky

Quick Note: I would not want to be Kentucky this week as the Gamecocks are coming off of a 16-13 loss to Auburn. They will take their frustrations out on the Wildcats.

No. 16: Michigan

Record: 5-0

Next Game: at Northwestern

Quick Note: Michigan's schedule continues to remain light but a game on the road against Northwestern is a step up from what they saw against Minnesota.

No. 15: Florida

Record: 4-1

Next Game: at LSU

Quick Note: The Gators had the opportunity to prove they were back against Alabama. It did not go so well so Florida gets another opportunity this week on the road against LSU.

No. 14: Nebraska

Record: 4-1

Next Game: Ohio State

Quick Note: Never thought about saying this but after a tough loss to Wisconsin, Nebraska should be able to get back on track when they go up against Ohio State.

No. 13: West Virginia

Record: 4-1

Next Game: Connecticut

Quick Note: West Virginia rebounded quickly from their loss to LSU and took out their frustrations against Bowling Green. They jump back into conference play this week and should have no issues with Connecticut.

No. 12: Georgia Tech

Record: 5-0

Next Game: Maryland

Quick Note: Every week Georgia Tech continues to put out more and more points. As long as the defense can hold up its end, the Yellow Jackets could be a team to watch.

No. 11: Texas

Record: 4-0

Next Game: Oklahoma

Quick Note:  While many may have expected a 4-0 start, it is still surprising based on the way last year ended. We will learn much more when the Longhorns take on the Sooners.

No. 10: Arkansas

Next Game: Auburn

Quick Note: After a tough loss to Alabama on the road, Arkansas completed an amazing comeback over Texas A&M but now face a tough Auburn team that just beat South Carolina.

No. 9: Oregon

Next Game: Cal

Quick Note: Oregon is coming off of a bye week and will host to Cal on Thursday night. This should be an entertaining game as Cal held Oregon to its lowest point total last year.

No. 8: Clemson

Record: 5-0

Next Game: Boston College

Quick Note: After three straight impressive wins, the Tigers must make sure it does not go to waste by losing to Boston College.

No. 7: Boise State

Record: 4-0

Next Game: at Fresno State

Quick Note: Maybe Kellen Moore has set the bar so high that anything less then perfection is a letdown. The Broncos must play better as they head on the road to face Fresno State.

No. 6: Wisconsin

Record: 5-0

Next Game: Indiana

Quick Note: After a huge conference win, Wisconsin gets a bye week before welcoming Indiana to town for their second conference game of the year.

No. 5: Stanford

Record: 4-0

Next Game: Colorado

Quick Note: As expected, the Cardinal keep on winning and will likely continue to do so until they face their biggest test of the year against Oregon.

No. 4: Oklahoma State

Record: 4-0

Next Game: Kansas

Quick Note: After getting a bye week to rest up and prepare, the Cowboys need to put the excitement of their win over Texas A&M behind them and focus on a win against Kansas.

No. 3: Oklahoma

Record: 4-0

Next Game: Texas

Quick Note: Oklahoma was clearly annoyed at the fact that they were jumped in the rankings after taking out on Ball State. Both the Sooners and Longhorns now head into their rivalry game undefeated.

No. 2: Alabama

Record: 5-0

Next Game: Vanderbilt

Quick Note: Alabama headed down to the swamp and showed the Gators that they still have a lot to work on. The Tide will have no problem this coming week as they take on Vanderbilt at home.

No. 1: LSU

Record: 5-0

Next Game: Florida

Quick Note: While their game against Kentucky was another example of how dominant they can be, the level of competition takes a step up next week as the Tigers take on the Gators.
