Liga BBVA: Predictions for Round 6 Fixtures of La Liga
Five games in and La Liga is off to a very close start.
There are only two points separating the first and seventh spots and, if you look through the league table in general, goal differential has also played a huge part.
Real Betis remained top dogs for another week despite its first loss and Valencia slipped all the way to seventh.

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid bulged the old onion bag more than a few times while beating Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano, respectively.
Without further ado here are the predictions for this weekends La Liga fixtures.
Osasuna vs. Mallorca
Mallorca will likely have to play this game without its manager Michael Laudrup, after picking up its second win of the season.
Osasuna is coming off a tie with Granada FC and will be looking to take all three points against a team whose organization is in a bit of a crisis.
Predicition: Osasuna wins 1-0
Racing Santander vs. Rayo Vallecano
Santander has managed three ties and two losses so far this season and will need points in games like this to get out, and stay out, of relegation.
This Rayo Vallecano will have to pick itself up after going ahead against Real Madrid, only to let six goals in. The team has done decently so far and will want to build on that start.
Prediction: Racing Santander win 1-0
Villarreal vs Zaragoza
Villarreal still has not found its footing neither domestically nor in Europe so far this season. This team may be overdue a much needed win.
Zaragoza kept Malaga at bay in its last league game, but that was at home. In this away tie the team will be careful not to leave itself open for the Yellow Submarine.
Prediction: Villarreal 1-0
Valencia vs. Granada CF
After holding out against Barcelona, Valencia suffered its first loss against Sevilla last weekend. Another tough midweek game against Chelsea may have the same effect, but that is not likely considering the opposition.
Granada CF has quietly picked up points where available so far, but the further the team goes into the season, the harder it will be.
Prediction - Valencia win 2-0
Malaga vs Getafe
Malaga has stayed within reach of the big boys so far and, as the team continues to gel, things can only get better.
Getafe showed signs of life while handing Real Betis its first loss of the season. Back to back wins will be a tough ask away at Malaga.
Prediction: Malaga win 1-0
Real Sociedad vs. Athletic Bilbao
Sociedad is in a solid league position at the moment and the team may believe it can grab one, if not three, points at home against a struggling Bilbao side.
Athletic Bilbao managed a draw against another struggling side in Villarreal and during the week the team beat the new and impressively built PSG squad. With that confidence-boosting victory, three points this weekend is not out of the question.
Prediction: 1-1 Tie
Real Betis vs. Levante
Real Betis may have fallen off the horse a little with that loss and will show that it was fluke by staying up as long as possible.
Levante continues to use the momentum from the Real Madrid game for the moment. As one of three unbeaten sides, they will have a lot of confidence. This game will be a close and interesting one.
Prediction: 1-1 Tie
Atletico Madrid vs. Sevilla
Madrid will want to forget about last weekend's display against Barcelona and get back to gaining points where it is possible.
Sevilla is another unbeaten team that will not be short on confidence. This weekend may see that record come to an end, however.
Prediction: Atletico Madrid win 2-1
Sporting Gijon vs Barcelona
Being at the bottom of the table with one point and welcoming Barcelona to town is not a good situation for Sporting Gijon. This team may either put up a good fight or lie down easily against the Blaugrana.
After scoring five goals in two straight games and boasting the most goals in La Liga by some margin, it seems that Barcelona is getting better as the season goes on.
This does not bode well for Sporting.
Prediction: Barcelona win 3-0
Espanyol vs Real Madrid
Espanyol is still tough to beat even though the results have not shown it so far.
Real Madrid has romped to wins in its last two games, but went through a tricky period before it. Espanyol may just make this tie tricky—maybe.
Prediction: Real Madrid win 3-1
