College Football Picks Week 5: Wisconsin and 3 Teams That Will Win Top 25 Games

Michael DixonJun 7, 2018

Just like last week, there are four games between two ranked teams. In the case of three of them, two undefeated teams square off. The other one matches up two teams that lost tough ranked showdowns last week.

Games between ranked teams can always go either way. But let's take a look at what we can expect in those four games.

If you're a fan of home cooking, you probably won't agree with me.

Wisconsin Badgers

Nebraska is highly ranked, but I don't see them as a viable national championship threat. They have had a few games this year that were much tougher than expected.

With the drop of Ohio State and Michigan, Wisconsin is really the top team in the Big Ten. Although their competition hasn't been especially tough, Wisconsin has been awfully impressive this year.

Given that the game is in Madison, I expect them to make Nebraska's Big Ten debut a rough one.

Texas A&M Aggies

A year from now, Texas A&M vs Arkansas will be an SEC battle. Actually, this used to be a Southwest Conference battle.

Both teams had decent starts to their games last week, but both lost. Texas A&M looked a lot more impressive.

Even after blowing a big first half lead, they did well enough to make Oklahoma State nervous.

In Arkansas' case, they never responded from an early defensive touchdown that Alabama scored.

Alabama Crimson Tide

Florida has been very impressive this year, but their competition has been less than stellar. Now, they deal with one of the best teams in the country.

While the Swamp is a very tough place to play, I like Alabama's chances here. The overall depth of Alabama's defense will be too much.

If I am wrong and Florida wins, then they are not only a viable threat to win the SEC, but the national championship.

Clemson Tigers

It's only Week 5, but the winner of the Virginia Tech vs Clemson game has a distinct chance of winning the ACC.

While Virginia Tech has been good this year, they haven't impressed me enough to think that they will hang with Clemson.

I do expect a good game here, but I like Clemson to win this one on the road.

Predictions

Wisconsin 34, Nebraska 24

Texas A&M 31, Arkansas 23

Alabama 30, Florida 24

Clemson 34, Virginia Tech 27
