AC Milan vs. Plzen: Milan's Domination Will Prove They Are Contenders

Richard LangfordJun 7, 2018

AC Milan battled to an impressive draw in their Champions League opener against the mighty Barcelona. Now, they will look to prove they are ready to build on that performance by beating down the Czech squad Plzen.

AC Milan will have to battle through injuries to get this win. Alessandro Nesta and Massimo Ambrosini, who have missed time with injuries, should both be on the pitch for this one. Zlatan Ibrahimovic will likely be a match-time decision.

That is the good news on the injury side for Milan. There is much more bad news. Gennaro Gattuso, Robinho, Alexandre Pato, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Mathieu Flamini will all be out for this one.

Despite the massive list of injuries, they will still hold a distinct talent advantage. They just have to stay focused enough to use it.

Their opponents will certainly be focused. Plzen coach Pavel Vrba, as quoted on foxnews.com:

"

"I've watched four of Milan's games, against Napoli and Udinese in particular, and I have garnered some ideas and inspiration."

"Naturally, we don't underestimate anyone. This is an important moment in our season."

"
I expect Plzen to put a good foot forward in this match. And in the end, that is what will make the dominance I expect to see from Milan so impressive.
They will push through their injury concerns, and battle a game Plzen team for a convincing win.
In the process, they will prove they are ready to contend with anyone for the title.
