College Football Picks Week 5: Alabama and 3 Stone Cold Saturday Locks
The early lines for Week 5 of the college football season have been released, and there are some great games to bet on this weekend.
While the "preseason" is technically over with many conference games going on, there are still a few solid inter-conference match-ups happening this weekend.
A lot of teams that have been rock solid bets are taking to the road against tough opponents this week too, so we are going to see how they perform in a hostile environment against a good team.
With that said, let’s take a look at some teams that should easily handle their business this week against their opponents.
Alabama (-4) at Florida
This is the game of the week, and one I am very excited about. Alabama is going to get a very tough SEC road test against Florida, who has a great defense and solid rushing game, just like the Crimson Tide.
I still think that Nick Saban is the better coach and will have his boys more prepared than first-year head coach Will Muschamp.
The Tide know they need to win this game to keep their BCS National Championship game hopes on track, and they will give it their all on Saturday with everyone watching.
Wisconsin (-9.5) vs. Nebraska
Camp Randall will be rocking when Nebraska comes in to play their first Big Ten conference game. Wisconsin is currently ranked No. 7, while Nebraska is No. 8.
I see the Badgers playing their butts off to prove to the voters that they are the better team, and one deserving of BCS consideration. Knocking off Nebraska will be a huge victory for them, and they should be fired up to get it.
I don’t see them letting off the gas in this game, and QB Russell Wilson should put up a performance for the ages to guide his team past the Cornhuskers.
Baylor (-3.5) at Kansas State
The Bears are going to have to take their talents to Manhattan to take on the always tough K-State Wildcats.
I trust that they will prove to be a legitimate Big 12 powerhouse this season by getting a solid road W and putting up a ton of points along the way.
The Wildcats struggled to open the season against Eastern Kentucky and barely beat an overrated Miami team.
I see the Bears proving their doubters wrong and stomping a mud hole in Kansas State on Saturday.
