College Football Picks Week 4: A Shocking SEC Upset to Shake Up The Polls
Let’s be real…the college football season has been rather boring this season.
There have been few upsets in the top 25, and the top teams are all taking care of business.
Until now.
Here is one SEC power that should be on upset alert in Week 4.
No. 14 Arkansas at No. 3 Alabama
I’m glad I wasn’t at Razorback practice this week.
After building a 24-0 lead against Troy…they slept walked to a lackluster 38-28 win.
Coach Bobby Petrino was furious in the postgame press conference, and you can bet he dropped the hammer down on his players at practice this week.
This is a good thing.
They travel to Tuscaloosa with some extra fire in their belly. Just listen to QB Tyler Wilson after last week’s game:
"You obviously want to come in and beat the heck out of Troy, but you take the positives out of it and you want to have a good grind where you play four quarters before you step into Alabama.
That's the positive I'm taking from this and I think we'll be ready come Saturday.
"
They also have revenge on their minds after Bama erased a two-touchdown lead to beat Arkansas in Fayetteville a year ago.
Expect the high-powered Razorback offense to handle the pressure of the Crimson Tide and move the chains methodically. Unlike most teams, the Razorbacks are very familiar with the exotic schemes of a Nick Saban-led defense.
Bank on a much-improved Arkansas defense (their downfall in ’10) to step up and keep QB A.J. McCarron scrambling for his life as he struggles to find an open receiver.
As long as Arkansas can keep RB Trent Richardson in check (not the easiest of tasks) and keep the crowd quiet by taking care of the ball…this is going to be the upset of the year in the SEC.
Prediction: Arkansas 30, Alabama 27
