Arsenal vs. Bolton: Injury News and Projected Starting 11

Khalid KhanJun 7, 2018

Coming off a crucial midweek win at home against Shrewsbury Town, Arsenal will try to build off that form as they try to shake off their tumultuous start to the season.

Arsenal will host Bolton at the Emirates this weekend, and there is a lot of pressure on Arsene Wenger and his players to get three points from this contest.

Arsenal have started the season with only one win in five games in the Premiere League. Bolton has been struggling as well, having started the season with a win but losing each of their last four games.

This matchup is vital if Arsenal wants any chance to get back into the title race.

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal was given great news this week when it was confirmed that Jack Wilshere will return to the squad in three weeks.

Yossi Benayoun joins the injury list after picking up a knock in a 3-1 win against Shrewsbury Town.

Other absentees for Arsenal are Sebastian Squillaci, Tomas Rosicky, Thomas Vermaelen and Abou Diaby.

Wenger said in a recent interview that Diaby should be back after the international break.

Bolton was also given some great news with Stu Holden returning to the squad after suffering that horrendous injury against Manchester United. He put on a fine performance against Aston Villa in the Carling Cup.

Bolton doesn't really have that many injury concerns and should be able to select a very fit squad.

Some other interesting news arose today during Owen Coyle's press conference. He believes that Arsenal will make a bid for Gary Cahill in January.

Prediction

3-1 Arsenal

I believe this will be a heavily contested match between both teams, but I expect Arsenal to pull through with three points.

Arsenal know that they must win this fixture if they are going to make anything out of their season.

I expect Arsene Wenger to get his men fired up and focused on this game and not let mental mistakes be their downfall like what happened at Blackburn.
