Oregon vs. Arizona: TV Schedule, Live Streaming, Radio, Game Time and More

Ryan RudnanskySep 21, 2011

Oregon and Arizona haven't exactly started the season off on the right foot, particularly against ranked opponents.

No. 10 Oregon lost its first game of the season to LSU, 40-27, and may have cost itself a chance at a repeat trip to the BCS Championship Game with the loss.

Arizona, on the other hand, has lost its last two games by a combined score of 74-24 after defeating Northern Arizona, 41-10, in the season opener. It's safe to say they've come crashing down back to earth.

BCS/Top 25 Poll Implications

The Ducks' loss to LSU to start the season undoubtedly hurt their chances for a repeat trip to the BCS Championship Game. But they are still good enough to make a BCS bowl game if all else fails, and it would be shocking if they ever fell out of the Top 25 this season.

The Wildcats, after being a borderline top-25 line in the preseason, have fallen off the map after getting blown out by Oklahoma State and Stanford. Wins against Oregon and USC would get them back in the top 25, but it's hard to see that happening.

Key Storyline:

How the Ducks rebound from their season-opening loss to LSU will be critical. It already appears as if they will play angry the rest of the season. In their last two victories against Nevada and Missouri State, they've outscored them by a combined score of 125-27. This team appears ready to rise up the rankings and prove they are still a worthy title contender.

What They're Saying:

Oregon running back LaMichael James:

"I haven't been frustrated. It's going to happen, you know? Eventually it's going to happen."

A Heisman finalist last season, James followed up two ho-hum performances to start the season with a 204-yard, three-touchdown performance against Missouri State, including a 90-yard scamper that was the longest run for Oregon since 1938. LaMichael James is back, and he's going to play like a Heisman candidate the rest of the season.

Arizona coach Mike Stoops:

"Our inability to have some balance in our offense will continue to keep from us becoming a good football team."

Well, tells us how you really feel, Mike! Wildcats quarterback Nick Foles has been solid as always this season, but it doesn't help when his offensive line allows him to get sacked five times vs. Stanford and the Wildcats rushed for 51 yards on 23 carries. Stoops tells the truth.

Oregon Player to Watch: LaMichael James

There's a number of options here, including Darron Thomas and cornerback Cliff Harris, but we all knew who the best player on the Ducks is. James, coming off a season in which he ran for over 1,700 yards and 21 touchdowns, has gotten his groove back, and he just so happens to be pitted against a rush defense that allowed Stanford's Stepfan Taylor to rush for 153 yards. James should have another monster game.

Arizona Player to Watch: Nick Foles

The Wildcats may be 1-2, but it has nothing to do with senior quarterback Nick Foles' play this season. After his solid sophomore and junior campaigns, Foles has picked up right where he left off, completing 75 percent of his passes and tossing seven touchdowns to zero interceptions through three games. Foles has a big test against the Ducks, but he's more than capable of succeeding against some of the top teams in the nation.

Key Matchup: Arizona running game vs. Oregon rush defense

If the Wildcats are to have any chance of making this a game against the Ducks, they are going to have to run the ball more effectively and the offensive line is going to have the game of its life. Not only would some production out of the backfield help the offense and keep pressure off Foles, it would keep the ball out of LaMichael James' hands more importantly. The Wildcats need to limit the Ducks' offensive opportunities.

Prediction: Oregon 40, Arizona 20
