Colorado vs. Ohio State: TV Schedule, Live Streaming, Radio, Game Time and More

Andrew KulhaJun 3, 2018

The Ohio State Buckeyes desperately need a bounce back win after last week's heartbreaking loss to Miami.

The program has been under intense scrutiny ever since former coach Jim Tressel got fired for an improper benefits scandal, and now the university is trying to sell their fanbase that everything is okay.

New coach Luke Fickell has quite a heavy burden on his shoulders, and two losses in a row won't help his cause, so to say that this is a must win game is an understatement for Ohio State.

Colorado is coming into town with a 1-2 record, but the Buckeyes would be foolish to think that they can skate by the Buffaloes.

They have a very dangerous passing game led by prolific receiver Paul Richardson, who has racked up an impressive 18 receptions, 360 yards and four touchdowns so far. If the Buckeyes get behind this team, it's going to be tough to keep up.

Both teams need a win here, and I expect desperation to be the theme that permeates this game, which should lead to some very good football.

Betting Line: (Bodog.com) Ohio State -15

Key Storyline:

The Buckeyes are in a very fragile situation right now, and if they lose this game, things could start getting very tricky in Columbus. The fanbase has already been torn by the scandal this summer, and losing isn't going to help anything. I don't remember the last time Ohio State had a bad team, so Fickell and the boys better make sure they don't slip to a lesser opponent.

Who Might Not Play for Colorado:

Offensive lineman David Bakhtiari is questionable with a knee injury.

Defensive back Travis Sandersfeld out indefinitely with an ankle.

Offensive lineman Jack Harris out indefinitely with a broken bone in his leg.

Who Might Not Play for Ohio State:

Defensive end Nathan William is out for third consecutive game.

Wide Receiver Corey Brown's status is questionable.

BCS/Top 25 Poll Implications:

This is a big redemption game for Ohio State, who was formerly ranked No. 17. They dropped right out of the rankings with last week's loss, and if they want any shot of getting back up, they will have to get a win here. It probably won't put them back to ranked status just yet, but it's a start.

What They're Saying: Elika Sadeghi of elevenwarriors.com writes about how Colorado is in the same boat as Ohio State as far as adjusting to a new head coach. They are dealing with some major penalty issues that they need to sort out. Sadeghi also breaks down the Buffaloes offense and how explosive they can be.

ESPN's Adam Rittenberg writes about how Luke Fickell and the Buckeyes are trying to pick up the pieces after last weeks loss. They showed some good things, but they really need to improve their quarterback play all around.

Colorado Player to Watch:

Receiver Paul Richardson is extremely dynamic and has made his mark offensively. In two games, he's put up nearly 400 yards and has scored four touchdowns. I expect the Buffaloes are going to be looking at him early and often.

Ohio State Player to Watch:

Fickell hasn't said who he is going to start under center this week, but I would keep my eye on freshman quarterback Braxton Miller. Senior quarterback Joe Bauserman hasn't been looking good, and Miller may get the nod. I'm not saying he's any better, but it's definitely an interesting situation to keep you eye on.

Key Matchup:

How will Colorado's offense fare against the Buckeyes' defense. Colorado can certainly put up some points, and overall, I'm not sure if Ohio State's defense is prepared for what they can do.

On the Hot Seat:

Ohio State head coach Luke Fickell is firmly on the hot seat. They aren't used to losing football in Columbus, and I'm pretty sure they don't want to start now. He needs to get his team to bounce back.

Prediction:

I think Colorado is going to put up a lot of points, but ultimately, home field advantage and the Buckeyes' desperation to not lose is going to put them over the top.

Ohio State: 31 Buffalo: 28
