Liverpool FC News: Reds Right Not To Hurry Steven Gerrard Back After Huge Loss
Liverpool is smart to ignore their panic button after a devastating 4-0 loss to Tottenham, as rushing Steven Gerrard back into the lineup could make a bad situation worse.
Gerrard is far too valuable to the team to gamble on. Kenny Dalglish won't fall victim to a foolish knee-jerk reaction.
While the loss to the Spurs is embarrassing, rushing Gerrard back onto the field is unlikely to have a dramatic effect on the team.

Liverpool needs to focus on the healthy players at their disposal. Gerrard isn't in a position to come in and save the day. He's still recovering from his groin operation that developed into an infection.
After waiting so long to get him back into action, thrusting him back into the lineup at this point would make no sense.
It's natural to look to Gerrard after a loss like this, especially after losing Daniel Agger to a rib fracture. Even so, Liverpool aren't Arsenal. They aren't a lost cause and a blowout isn't desirable, but it doesn't ruin their season.
Running the risk of watching Gerrard regress would be a huge blow to the team. It's an unwarranted risk and Dalglish is smart to deflect the talk of bringing back Gerrard before he is completely ready.
Gerrard is a great asset for them to have in their back pocket, which could be used as an argument to bring him back as soon as possible, as well as one to protect him by any means necessary.
The latter makes more sense and pressure from the fans or anyone else won't deter Dalglish from making the right decision for all parties involved.
Even with the huge loss, Liverpool is right in the middle of the EPL standings. They still have plenty of time to rebound and having Gerrard available and healthy for as many games possible takes precedence over winning games in the upcoming month.
Fans have been waiting patiently for Gerrard's highly anticipated return.
They can wait a little bit longer.
