College Football Picks Week 4: Predictions for This Saturday's Top Games

Alex KayJun 7, 2018

Week 4 of the college football season has four awesome matchups between AP Poll Top 25 teams.

These are the big games of the week and are going to get the most action from gambling ladies and gentleman.

They are also the hardest to predict because these teams have all played phenomenally so far to start the season and are ranked highly for a reason.

Let’s take an early look at the four big games this Saturday and try to predict who will cover the spread.

No. 3 ALABAMA (-11.5) vs. No. 14 Arkansas

This is the big SEC match of the week, and it will show off Nick Saban’s disciplined and deadly Crimson Tide defense against a yet untested Razorbacks program.

Alabama has been dominant in its three games and is second in the nation in points allowed, with only 6.0 per game against them.

Arkansas has been putting up huge yards and points on offense and is eighth in the nation in both passing yards and points for.

They have yet to face a real test, though, and I think this gives Alabama the edge, especially at Bryant-Denny Stadium, which should be at capacity for this marquee matchup.

Lay the points with Alabama and watch the Tide defense roll over this overrated Arkansas squad.

No. 8 TEXAS A&M (-4) vs. No. 7 Oklahoma State

This is going to be a SHOOTOUT. Oklahoma State has the best passing offense in college football and the third most points scored. Their defense is suspect, however, and they have given up 34 points to Louisiana-Lafayette and 33 to Tulsa.

A&M can put points on the board as well, but they stifle teams on defense and have only allowed 10.5 points per game.

The Cowboys had a real test against the University of Arizona, while A&M will be in their first tough game of the season.

I would take the points with the Cowboys here and hope they outgun the Aggies.

No. 11 Florida State (PK) at No. 21 CLEMSON

This line was originally set at Florida State -3, but the public has been banging Clemson's drum after their trouncing of Auburn last week.

The Seminoles lost to Oklahoma, but they put up a solid fight, and I really believe that FSU is the better program.

Clemson is a bit overrated after beating an Auburn squad with NO defense. Some of the cornerbacks who were giving up big yards to the Tigers didn’t deserve to be on the field last Saturday.

Florida State is going to beat Clemson, and getting them at a pick ‘em is great value.

No. 2 LSU (-6) at No. 16 WEST VIRGINIA

LSU won a nail-biter last season in Death Valley, but they should be the clear favorite and easy winner in Morgantown this year.

They have one of the best defenses in football and will stifle Dana Holgorsen’s spread offense. I would bet on the experienced Les Miles having his squad more prepared than Holgorsen against his first SEC opponent as a head coach.
