College Football Rankings 2011: Odds Any of the Top 3 Will Win It All
With the top three teams of the college football world looking like top five mainstays, it is pretty likely that one of those teams will win the national title at the end of the college football season.
Here are the odds that one of the top three teams will take home the national title come January.
Oklahoma Sooners
The Oklahoma Sooners started out the season No. 1 and look like they will hold on to that spot for the entire season.
The Sooners already passed their first test against then-No. 5 Florida State yesterday. Despite having one of the toughest schedules in the nation, the Sooners will find away to win out the rest of the year, making the best case for a national title run.
Odds to win title: 2/1
LSU
The LSU Tigers started the season with doubt after their starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson was held out of the lineup in the season opener for legal trouble and still beat a high-powered Oregon team in big-time fashion, 40-27. LSU looks like a legit national title contender.
I see the Tigers losing one game all year, their Nov. 5 meeting at Alabama. A loss to Alabama will not derail LSU's chances completely, but it will put a dent in it, depending what happens to the other title contenders through the year.
Odds to win title: 17/1
Alabama
The No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide will win out the rest of their season as well, winning big games against No. 14 Arkansas, No. 15 Florida and the big showdown with LSU, where I expect Alabama to assert its dominance and state its case for a national title bid.
Odds to win title: 4/1
