West Virginia Football: WVU Will Go Undefeated If They Beat LSU
While the Big East Conference has been a bit of a laugh in recent years after the ACC raided the league, the LSU Tigers are definitely not a laugh as they reside in the top five of the polls.
The Tigers will make the trip to Morgantown next Saturday to a hostile Mountaineer Field, facing a West Virginia team that has seemed to hit their stride under new coach Dana Holgorsen.
With the Mountaineers and Tigers entering the game with identical records and ranked in both polls, this game will likely garner a lot of attention from media outlets leading up to the contest next weekend.
West Virginia and LSU will be the classic high powered offense versus the immovable object defense as Les Miles will look to win the second ever meeting between the two programs.
If the Mountaineer offense can somehow beat the stingy LSU defense next week, West Virginia will have a somewhat easy path to the team’s first undefeated season since the 1993 season under legendary WVU coach Don Nehlen.
The biggest test facing the Mountaineers outside of the Tigers of LSU will be in WVU’s season finale against the South Florida Bulls on December 1st in Tampa.
Do the Mountaineers have the right mix of offense and defense to upset the LSU Tigers at home in Morgantown?
If WVU is successful against LSU, can Dana Holgorsen lead WVU to the BCS in his first season in Morgantown and his first stint as a major college football coach?
