Andrew Luck: 3 Reasons Why He's the Best Pac-12 QB in the Last 10 Years

Andrew Luck is arguably the best quarterback in the nation. Second in the Heisman voting last season, Luck forwent the NFL draft to return to Stanford for his senior season.

Luck owns two Pac-10 (12) records for quarterbacks with the highest completion percentage for a single season (70.7 percent in 2010) and career total offense per game (268.8 yards per game).

There has been no drop-off to start this season. In the first two games, Luck has already passed for 461 yards and six touchdowns with only one interception.

Here are three reasons why Andrew Luck is the best quarterback to come out of the Pac-12 this decade.

The Numbers

Andrew Luck has put up huge numbers in his first two seasons at Stanford.

In 2009, his first year as a starter, Luck passed for over 2,500 yards, 13 touchdowns and only four interceptions.

Luck was even better last season. With a completion percentage of 70.7 percent, Luck threw for over 3,300 yards, 32 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Luck ended the 2010 season with a quarterback rating of 170.2.

And Luck is not slowing down this year, putting up 461 yards, six touchdowns and only one interception in the first two games.

Andrew Luck has put this Stanford team on his back and brought them back into national relevance in the college football universe in just two years.

With Andrew Luck under center, Stanford posted their first winning season since 2001 with an 8-5 record in 2009.

2010 was a breakout year for the Stanford program, as they went 12-1 and posted their first ever BCS bowl appearance and win with a 42-12 trouncing of Virginia Tech. Not surprisingly, Luck was voted the MVP of that game.
