Maryland Football Uniforms: A Look at the Terps' Best Combination Options

College football uniforms have changed drastically over the years. Led by the Oregon Ducks, college football teams are looking for the latest new-look that will catch the attention of the country. No team has been able to do that better this year than the Maryland Terrapins.

With a chance to impress on the football field this season, here is a look at the Terp’s best uniform combination options for this season.

Over 30 to Choose from

The Terps have plenty to choose from. In fact, they have over 30 combinations to choose from when they take the field each week.

Terrapins coach Randy Edsall will reveal the selection each Wednesday via his Twitter account. Under Amour-designed uniforms are all the rage, and the Terps have the inside track on some great combinations.

Flying the Flag

In a nationally televised game on ESPN to start the season, the Terps wasted no time in sending a fashion message to the college football community.

The Terps unveiled a uniform—a tribute to the flag—that sent the Twiter universe scrambling to comment on the gear. Oh by the way, the Terps won the game.

Not All Crazy

The flag uniform was met with mixed reviews, as many thought it was too over the top and too distracting. It got the job done as Maryland football became the head storyline in college football that week.

However, not all of the uniforms are that crazy. For example, this white edition has a gray helmet that gives a granite appearance, that actually looks, well…normal.

Keep It Simple

Maryland has some combinations that keep it simple and to the point.

This combination, for example, uses darker colors and brings back some of the highlights of uniforms that Maryland have worn in the past. The mostly black piece gives the Terps a modernized, intimidating look that could be effective on the football field.

Lite Bright

The Terps use a bright yellow in many of their combinations that make them stand out from other teams in college football.

It does the job of grabbing your attention, but it looks like something that Arizona State Sun Devils would wear.

Just Too Many Combinations?

The Terps can actually mix and match any uniform combination they have from the extensive wardrobe collection, but after a while it just seems like overkill.

This look combines too many different colors and it just looks too busy. Hopefully, this one won’t come out too often.

Tour De France?

The bright theme continues for the Terps, as one of the combinations features a bright yellow jersey. The good news is that they did not unveil the all bright yellow combination and the black offsets the brightness to a degree.

This uniform is just another example of mixing it up too much.

Best of the Bunch?

Not all of the combinations are bad. This edition goes back to basics, as the plain white is accented by the bold black look of the solid helmets.

The mixed color of the numbers makes them pop off the jersey and makes a statement.

Overkill?

Out of all of these combinations, the solid white is promising, but does not send out the awe factor that Maryland is looking for.

The Flag uniform revealed in week one will be hard to beat, but with this many to choose from, the Terps will have their chances to grab headlines once again.

Options Are Endless

The Terps have so many options, choosing what to wear each week could rank right up there with game planning.

Like it or not, new flashy uniforms are the wave of the future, and Maryland will not be the last college football team to hit the scene with a new look.
