Liga BBVA: Predictions for Round 4 Fixtures of La Liga(Technically Round 3)

Mikhail TurnerSep 17, 2011

Last week I went 5-out-of-10 in terms of correct results.

Scorelines are always a tricky situation and I was only completely correct in one of those instances.

By far the most surprising result of the last round was Barcelona's draw with Real Sociedad.

Atletico Madrid continued its disappointing start to the season, while Valencia built on its strong start and Malaga announced itself against Granada CF.

This Saturday will start an interesting week for La Liga as teams will play two games in a matter of a week.

As always, click through to find out the predictions for this Round 3 of La Liga!

Mallorca vs. Malaga

1 of 10

One team is coming off its first win of the season and the other is coming of its first loss—so this game should be an intriguing one.

With Santi Cazorla looking to lead the way again, Malaga may well be beginning its rise to prominence but Mallorca will be no pushovers.

Prediction: Malaga win

Scoreline: 0-2

Sporting Gijon vs. Valencia

2 of 10

Valencia will look to continue its strong start to the season with another win, this time against Sporting Gijon.

Valencia has barely squeezed past its two opponents while Sporting has barely lost. This could be another close game for both teams.

Prediction: Draw

Scoreline: 1-1

Granada CF vs. Villarreal

3 of 10

Both sides are without a win so far this season and odds are that Villarreal is most likely to win this one.

Granada has had their work cut out for them all season, and after the mauling they received from Malaga last week they will be anxious to avoid a similar fate against Villarreal.

Prediction: Villarreal win

Scoreline:  0-2

Barcelona vs. Osasuna

4 of 10

It has been an interesting week for Barcelona, starting with a tie against Real Sociedad last weekend.

Things don't get any easier with injuries mounting and Osasuna visiting. Barcelona can focus on the league for the next week which will help, but this game could still be a close one.

Prediction: Barcelona win

Scoreline: 3-1

Sevilla vs. Real Sociedad

5 of 10

Real Sociedad showed some real fight last weekend against Barcelona and will fancy themselves against Sevilla.

With two tough games to start the season Sevilla may feel that this Real Sociedad game comes at the right time, but they will be wary. These teams are even on points at this early time in the season.

Prediction: Sevilla win

Scoreline: 1-0

Getafe vs. Rayo Vallecano

6 of 10

Getafe is again under performing to start the season while Rayo Vallecano looks like they will be a tough out this season.

The Madrid based squad will look to right the ship against the Liga newcomers and could very well do so.

Prediction: Getafe win

Scoreline: 1-0

Real Zaragoza vs. Espanyol

7 of 10

This game has draw written all over it.

The Zaragoza squad still has not found its footing after an opening round loss to Real Madrid and Espanyol look like a team that may be up and down this season.

Prediction: Draw

Scoreline: 0-0

Atletico Madrid vs. Racing Santander

8 of 10

After a solid outing in Europe this week, Atletico Madrid's plethora of new signings may finally begin to help them progress this season.

Racing Santander has had the same mixed results as Atletico Madrid to start the season but quality should win out.

Prediction: Atletico Madrid win

Scoreline: 2-0

Levante vs. Real Madrid

9 of 10

Pretty boy Cristiano Ronaldo will look to lead Madrid's continuous assault on opposition goalkeepers against Levante.

Levante has scraped out two draws for this season but it is tough to see them pulling out a third if Madrid's form keeps up.

Prediction: Real Madrid win

Scoreline: 3-0

Athletic Bilbao vs. Real Betis

10 of 10

Of all the La Liga newcomers, Real Betis look the most likely to stay up and they will provide tough opposition for Athletic Bilbao.

The Basque side has endured a slow start to the season, and if such results continue the pressure will build on new coach Marcelo Bielsa. A home game may be what is needed to jump start the team.

Prediction: Athletic Bilbao win

Scoreline: 1-0
