Ohio State vs Miami (FL): Game Preview, Over/Under, Spread, Picks and TV Info
Throw the record books out when Miami and Ohio State play.
Literally throw them out because there is a good chance this game will eventually be completely wiped out by the NCAA.
The two schools that had nightmare summers are both awaiting their penalty from the NCAA committee and it's likely that both will face harsh penalties.
Because of that, the Buckeyes will be without four key players including their top running back and offensive lineman (I'm not even going to count Terrelle Pryor).
The Hurricanes were upset by Maryland in Week 1 because of the suspensions of eight key players. Saturday will be their first game of the season.
Here is all of the latest you need to know for one of the best games of the weekend:
Where: Sun Life Stadium
When: Saturday at 7:30p.m. ET.
Watch: ESPN and streaming online at ESPN3.com
Spread: Miami -3. The three points are awarded for home field advantage meaning Vegas believes the two teams are even.
It's extremely hard to pick this game considering QB Jacory Harris hasn't played a game this year. The Hurricanes gave a much better Buckeyes team a scare in Columbus a year ago and now OSU starts a QB that has a grand total of zero road starts.
Over/Under: 46 points. A few trends to direct you in the direction of the under:
- Under is 4-0 in Buckeyes last four games as a road underdog.
- Under is 6-0 in Buckeyes last six games as an underdog.
- Under is 8-1-2 in Buckeyes last 11 road games.
- Under is 7-1-1 in Hurricanes last nine games following a ATS loss.
- Under is 6-1-1 in Hurricanes last eight games on grass.
- Under is 5-1 in Hurricanes last six games following a bye week.
- Under is 5-1-1 in Hurricanes last seven games as a favorite.

BCS/Top 25 Poll Implications
Ohio State is currently 17th in the AP Poll and would take a tumble with a loss. They looked rather shaky in a five point win over Toledo and a loss to "The U" would confirm everybody's doubts. A win would jump them up at least a spot or two depending on who loses in front of them.
Miami is a ways away from being ranked but would vault into the conversation with a win. Jumping into the "others receiving votes" section would be the likely outcome with a win.
Keys to Ohio State Win
QB Joe Bauserman can't get rattled early. This is his first year starting since high school back in 2003 (yes this guy is old) and nobody knows how he will respond on the road.
The Buckeyes must grab a lead early and let the running game bleed the clock and keep the crowd quiet.
Keys to Miami Win
Energy, energy, energy.
The Hurricanes need to get the crowd involved early and try to rattle the inexperienced QB on the other side.
The defense must stop the prolific running attack of OSU and force them into third-and-long situations. Turnovers and great field position will follow.
Prediction
With so many unknowns on the Buckeyes side of the field, it's hard to see them going into a hostile environment and emerging victorious. Last year's close loss on the road is also a factor for Miami considering it was a much more talented Ohio State squad a year ago.
Expect the crowd to get into it early and often and expect the Buckeyes to commit an uncharacteristically high number of turnovers.
