Coming to Life: The Resurgence of the Minnesota Timberwolves
The Timberwolves no longer have the worst record in the NBA. That now belongs to the dismal Heat, who now sit at 9-36.
The 'Wolves, now at 10-36, have shown some real signs of improvement lately. They blew out the Bulls, and have been contenders in almost every game recently.
Why do they do this to us?
Right when we think that they officially are the worst team in the NBA, they improve.
Now, it is entirely possible that the T-Wolves might not even get a top-five pick in the NBA Draft. I'm fine with that.
I know that sounds contradictory.
If you read my article that I wrote a while ago, you probably think that I would prefer the Timberwolves to get the first pick in the draft rather than seeing them play well on the court.
I've changed my mind, sort of.
I would still like a high draft pick, as someone like Beasley, Love, or Mayo would make our team great in the future.
But now that they're winning, I realize how much you can learn by playing well. Not only can you learn better about yourself and your own abilities, but also about your teammates, and how they play.
Gelling together as a ball club is critical for a young team like the Timberwolves.
So, the Timberwolves playing well brings happy thoughts and feelings to my mind. But, if they were being blown away in every game they played in, those happy thoughts might just remain.
It's a win-win situation, just without that much winning.
