What's at Stake?
While this game won’t be on many people’s must-watch lists, it should be on yours. The Redskins surprised the NFL by beating down the New York Giants, and now they look to beat down the Cardinals. As good as Washington looks, Arizona has a solid offense and a defense that will get better with every game they play. This game will determine just how real each team’s chance of making a run at the playoffs will be.

Fantasy: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em and Sleeper
Start 'Em: Rex Grossman, Redskins
Even with the addition of rookie Patrick Peterson, the Cardinals secondary is terrible after the trade that sent Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to Philadelphia for Kevin Kolb. Grossman will throw all over the field on the Cardinals.
Sit 'Em: Beanie Wells, Cardinals
Even with the only stellar defender the Carolina Panthers had in the middle, Jon Beason, out for the game, Beanie Wells still only muster 90 rushing yards. With a much tougher Redskins run defense, expect a lot of short gains for the Cardinals back.
Sleeper: Early Doucet, Cardinals
With Larry Fitzgerald taking most of the defensive coverage to his side, the Cardinals will need new No. 2 Early Doucet to take the added targets and make the most of them. Doucet could see a lot of man coverage, and Kolb will try to exploit that.
What They're Saying
Cardinals star receiver Larry Fitzgerald told Arizona Central about the play of his new quarterback Kevin Kolb:
"Kevin did impress me. When things didn't go well he found ways to make plays with his feet to buy time. He didn't force any balls, either. He was accurate and led us. It's only been six weeks he has been here, so I'm stoked about him and this offense.
"
Redskins linebacker Lorenzo Alexander told the Washington Post about the new mindset of the team:
"The mindset is there to keep the momentum on our side. There was never any down moments in the game. I think a couple drives we didn’t go down and score, but the guys still were confident in the huddle and there was no shift in momentum.
"
Cardinals Player to Watch: Patrick Peterson
After being selected fifth overall in the 2011 NFL draft, the Cardinals had no problem shipping fellow cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to Philadelphia and leaving a rookie in charge of their secondary. Peterson got burnt by Cam Newton and the Panthers, and it may be more of the same from the Redskins.
Redskins Player to Watch: Tim Hightower
While the New York Giants secondary is beat up, their run defense is great and it showed against Redskins running back Tim Hightower. For the Redskins to not ask Rex Grossman to win the game, they need Hightower to break loose and exploit a porous Cardinals defense.
Key Matchup: Kevin Kolb vs. DeAngelo Hall
It doesn’t take much to get the ball to Larry Fitzgerald. Hell, he had 90 catches last season with a threesome of crappy quarterbacks heaving the ball. With Kevin Kolb under center, Fitzgerald’s numbers will be even better, but only if he can avoid falling into the many traps that the Pro Bowl cornerback can throw at him.
Prediction: Washington Redskins 34, Arizona Cardinals 17
