Nike Pro Combat Uniforms Released for LSU, Army-Navy Game, Michigan State & More
Nike released images for their new batch of Pro Combat uniforms for college football teams this morning.
There were designs for six schools—Army, LSU, Michigan State, Navy, Ohio State and Stanford.
With the rise in popularity of Oregon’s uniforms in recent years, we’ve seen Pro Combat designs become all the rage in college football as of late.
This year, teams like Oklahoma State, Boise State, Georgia and Arizona State have all donned Pro Combat style uniforms.
The uniforms are usually hit or miss depending on who you ask, but the designs are always interesting no matter what.
Here’s a look at the six new uniforms Nike unveiled today.
Head to Nike’s Facebook page for a full look at the designs.
Army Uniforms
1 of 18Army’s uniforms for the annual Army-Navy game are by far the most plain out of this group.
Not much has changed from the uniforms the Knights normally wear.
White uniforms, gold pants, gold cleats and gold helmets.
Very little flash, but still sleek nonetheless.
Army Helmets
2 of 18Army’s helmets will simply be all gold with a black stripe running down the middle.
Army Gloves
3 of 18The gloves are black and feature an equal part of the “A” logo on each palm.
LSU Uniforms
4 of 18LSU will break the "After Labor Day" rule by going with all-white uniforms for the game against Auburn on Oct. 22.
The Tigers went with a similar look when they played Arkansas last season, but they had bronze helmets instead of white ones.
LSU Helmets
5 of 18The helmets are white with a bronze stripe with purple trim running down the middle, and the letters LSU along with the Tiger mascot are on the side.
LSU Gloves
6 of 18The striped gloves with purple tiger eyes is truly an innovative and eye-catching design.
Kudos to Nike.
Michigan State Uniforms
7 of 18The uniforms that Michigan State will be wearing for the Oct. 15 matchup with Michigan are probably my favorite of the bunch.
The Spartans went with a dark green and black look with bronze cleats and a bronze helmet.
Michigan State Helmets
8 of 18The helmet is bronze with a green stripe down the middle and features the Spartan logo on the side.
Michigan State Gloves
9 of 18The gloves appear to be black and bronze on top and green on the bottom, and when you put the palms together it forms the Spartan logo.
Navy Uniforms
10 of 18For the Army-Navy game, the Midshipmen will wear an all-blue uniform with blue and gold cleats and a white helmet.
Navy Helmets
11 of 18Navy’s helmets are white with a gold stripe down the middle, and they have the team’s anchor logo on the side and the player’s number on the back right.
Navy Gloves
12 of 18Navy’s gloves are white and gold on the top and blue on the palms, and when the two hands are put together it forms the Navy anchor logo.
Ohio State Uniforms
13 of 18For the Wisconsin game on Oct. 29, Ohio State will break out a similar-style uniform to the red and gray ones the Buckeyes wore against Michigan last year.
Ohio State Helmets
14 of 18The helmet is similar to the one Georgia used for the opener against Boise State.
It’s gray with a red stripe down the middle and features the player’s number on the side.
Ohio State Gloves
15 of 18The gloves are gray with red fingers, and they feature the usual combat-style design.
Stanford Uniforms
16 of 18Stanford went with all-black uniforms last year, and now this season the Cardinal will be going with all-red attire for their game against Notre Dame on Nov. 27.
Stanford Helmets
17 of 18The helmet is a grayish-black color with a red stripe down the middle and the school’s normal red “S” logo on the side.
Stanford Gloves
18 of 18The gloves are gray with red fingers, and when put together the palms of the hands form the school’s “S” logo.
