Ron Jaworski Video: ESPN Analyst Apologizes for on-Air Swear
"Wait a second, did Ron Jaworski just say what I think he said?"
That question -- or at least some version of it -- was being asked across the country during the fourth quarter of the New England Patriots' 38-24 win over the Miami Dolphins on Monday night. And the answer was yes. Ron Jaworski did say it.
It in this case is the dreaded four-letter S-word that rhymes with "sit." Jaworski said it on live TV. On Monday Night Football. In front of millions upon millions of people.

Kinda awkward, to say the least.
Because Jaworski said it in a matter-of-factly, no-big-deal kind of way, he probably could have refused to acknowledge he said it. He could have just acted like nothing happened.
Instead, somebody in an ESPN war room somewhere must have berated Jaworski through his headset, because he would eventually apologize for saying an "inappropriate word" earlier in the broadcast. He made it clear that he wasn't trying to offend anybody.
Because, you know, there are just so many people out there who are still offended by naughty words like [rhymes with sit]. Think of the children, for criminy's sake! Because surely there were just so many children watching Monday Night Football at 10:00 p.m. on a school night.
Well, I obviously can't speak for the offended crowd, but I think I speak for everyone else when I say that there was no harm done. Shoot, if I had to apologize for every time I said [rhymes with sit], I don't think I would get anything done.
My guess is that the same is true of Jaworski. He is, after all, a grown man. Last I checked, grown men are fond of swearing.
So my advice to you, Mr. Jaworski, is not to beat yourself up about it. Us regular folk aren't going to hold it against you.
As they say, [rhymes with sit] happens.
