Dorial Green-Beckham: Top Schools and Best Situations for Nation's Top Recruit
Recently, I did an update on Dorial Green-Beckham. Today, I'm just going to give a quick rundown on the best situations for him at some of his "rumored" top schools.
Surely, I realize that an official list from the top overall recruit will not come for a few more weeks at the earliest, but he has taken some unofficial visits and seems to like a couple specific schools.
Let's check 'em out!
Alabama
1 of 5Alabama is a school that DGB has taken an unofficial visit to and seems to like. The situation here would be pretty interesting, as the Crimson Tide aren't known for their air assault on offense.
However, Julio Jones proved during his three seasons in Tuscaloosa that Nick Saban and his staff recognize stud WRs and get them the football.
If he were to sign here, Green-Beckham would almost surely immediately draw comparisons as the next Julio Jones.
Arkansas
2 of 5The Hogs saw Green-Beckham on campus last month and the WR liked what he saw. He also commented to various media outlets that he likes the pro-style passing attack.
With Bobby Petrino, a renowned offensive mind, leading the program and their recent history of solid WR play, this could be a good situation for DGB.
Being a Razorback could appeal to him because Petrino could show him to play like an NFL WR, which we all expect Green-Beckham to be in perhaps three years.
Oklahoma
3 of 5The Sooners also have hosted Green-Beckham for an unofficial visit this past summer, and, again, he was impressed with the Norman program.
Oklahoma runs a good offense that has a lot of spread principles built in it. The Sooners toss the ball around, and with Ryan Broyles leaving, DGB and Trey Metoyer could form a bullying WR corps.
That has to be appealing to Green-Beckham.
Missouri
4 of 5And finally we get to Missouri, the in-state school for Green-Beckham, who has implied that he wishes to not leave far from his Springfield, MO, residence.
So, combine that with the fact that Gary Pinkel has a history of running a pass happy spread offense that I've seen run 5-wides a ton of times, and you see why Mizzou has a good chance in this thing.
Why not stay in the state, head over to Missouri where you can catch a ton of balls, be the No.1 WR in the offense perhaps as a true freshman and then head on to the NFL?
We'll have to wait and see what DGB does.
Other Schools in Consideration
5 of 5Auburn, Texas and Ole Miss are three other schools that Green-Beckham took unofficial visits to this past spring and summer.
Auburn has never really had a dominant WR, so they are an interesting school in the mix.
Ole Miss impressed him on his trip there and is also in the mix.
Texas has a history of solid WR prospects and already has Cayleb Jones and Thomas Johnson committed for this year.
