Liverpool FC: 6 Big-Name Players Linked to the Reds
Liverpool have been one of the bigger spenders recently, and their new-look squad is of Champions League calibre.
However, a team isn't built in the summer, and though no position needs urgent addressing, some positions can be strengthened.
My brief was to write about six big-name players linked to the reds, but I can only think of three with a shred of truth in them, so the other three are nice-to-have's. Get it?
Let's get cracking.
Eden Hazard
1 of 6Start off big—might as well.
Rumour has it that Hazard is part of the Joe Cole deal that sent the flop to Lille.
If rumours are to be believed, Liverpool have first choice concerning this man come the end of the season.
If the claims are correct, we're in for a treat.
Hazard is one of the most creative out there, and his trickery makes him unplayable at times.
Think of him as a better version of Adel Taarabt. Think of that name as a bit of foreshadowing (hint, hint).
Anyway, back to Hazard. He's brilliant, but would cost around £20 million.
He would replace Dirk Kuyt or Jordan Henderson.
Adel Taarabt
2 of 6Adel Taarabt has seen many new faces join QPR, but he still sticks out.
Like Hazard, he is young and has every chance of becoming one of the best. The ex-Tottenham player would cost between £10 million and £20 million.
The question would be where he would play.
Downing, Henderson, Bellamy and Suarez have all played on the wing for Liverpool this season, so competition's steep.
But, hey, he'd be nice to have, and he has been linked.
Christian Eriksen
3 of 6Christian Eriksen is like the other two on this list—he plays as an attacking midfielder.
At 19, he is one of the hottest prospects in football.
He has scored 10 goals in seventy appearances—not a bad record for someone so young.
He, too, would be a great buy and has been heavily linked.
Gary Cahill
4 of 6This one isn't likely to happen, as Coates has been deemed the Carragher replacement.
Daniel Agger has proven before that he is injury prone, and if he faces a spell out, a bid may be made.
I am obviously a fan of the Bolton centre-back.
Yann M'Vila
5 of 6This one is also unlikely, simply because we have so many midfielders.
However, M'vila has been heavily linked with a move to the premiership and would become another Lucas, if you like.
James McCarthy
6 of 6The winger has been linked to the Reds for a number of years and has never come close to signing.
But, hey, that may change.
This article has been extremely challenging to write, given that there are no big-name signings linked to the Reds—let alone six. So hold your fire, unless absolutely necessary.
Thanks.
