Mancini Hesitant About Starting New Additions in 3-0 Crush of Wigan Athletic
Manchester City continued their dominance over the Premier League this weekend, beating Wigan Athletic by three goals. All three goals were scored by forward Ken Aguero, which made him the second top scorer in the EPL. Yet something was very strange with the starting lineup; Mancini didn't start Nasri, a new midfielder from Arsenal, and Edin Dzeko, the most talked about player in the league. The question is, why?
With such a superb transfer window performance, acquiring some of the brightest prospects from around the world, it is a mystery why he didn't start them. I'll try to solve that mystery here. Starting with why Dzenko didn't start.

Edin Dzeko came off a tremendous showing against the Spurs, scoring four out of their five goals, and then went to sitting on the bench against Wigan Athletic the following game. Why would you sit out a player that not only has it in them to score multiple times during a match, but is also very hot?
Mancini sat Dzeko out because he wanted to give Carlos Tevez a chance to play in his spot. Tevez has been under so much trade speculation that his reputation has gotten worse. The Argentine has been very unhappy with his homing in Manchester and has just recently felt better after his family moved to England. He also dealt with his weight problems and depression, and has just now checked into a clinic. Tevez was looking to re-establish his reputation today and become the face of Manchester City.
Samir Nasri started the game on the bench for the first time this entire season. He is a key midfielder, and his versatility and movement has improved City's playing style quite a lot. Even though he didn't start today's match, he did have one assist, which just shows how important he is to the team. Mancini probably didn't start him because he hasn't been scoring any goals, which, for such a good midfielder, is less than impressive. That logic isn't the best, and City should keep in mind that Nasri is much better than the other midfielder, Yaya Toure.
For the next match against Napoli in their first Champions League match, City should start both Nasri and Dzeko.
