College Football Recruiting 2012: Top Recruits Most Likely to Decommit

Edwin WeathersbyJun 6, 2018

The thing with commitments is that they are just verbal agreements and are non-binding. Recruits can easily change their mind and either re-open themselves back up or switch to another school.

For this read, I'm going to give some top players who are committed to schools, but look the most likely to decommit from them.

Let's check 'em out.

Cayleb Jones, WR

1 of 4

Jones recently took a surprise unofficial visit to Texas A&M, and I always tend to think where there's smoke there's fire.

With the Aggies moving to the SEC (eventually), their pull around the state will escalate because of being affiliated with the best league in college football.

I still think Jones will end up a Longhorn, but his pledge is a bit shaky at this point.

Brionte Dunn, RB

2 of 4

Dunn is an Ohio State pledge, however he has stated that he's taking basically a wait and see approach to the program moving forward. The 6'1", 215-pound RB shocked many by taking a Michigan trip in the spring.

He says he hears a lot from Miami, Michigan and Penn State among several other schools and likely will take some visits.

Ohio State is going to have to recruit Dunn like he's not committed.

Darreus Rogers, WR

3 of 4

Rogers gave USC a commit earlier in the recruiting process and seemed solid. The Trojans are his hometown school and look like a solid fit.

However, the 6'2", 195-pounder from Carson, CA revealed to Scout.com that he also will trip to Arizona State, Hawai'i, Miami and SMU.

With the Trojans having a good wealth of talent at the WR position and Rogers taking four other trips, there's a solid chance he bolts from Troy.

Avery Johnson, WR

4 of 4

Even though Johnson is pledged to LSU, he's still looking around and will take his trips and by the way Johnson talks, I'm not sure he sticks with LSU.

He's also considering Florida, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Florida State and Georgia.

Johnson is going to trip to all six schools, with Florida marking an unofficial visit. LSU fans, if I were you, I'd be pretty worried about Johnson right now.
