College Football Recruiting 2012: The Top Teams Spiraling Down the Drain
Some teams just aren't doing too well, and it looks like they are on their way down the drain for the 2012 recruiting cycle.
Who are those teams? We're going to find out.
Maybe your favorite program is on this list, as many teams are not having the great year on the trail that they expected.
Here are the top teams that are spiraling down the drain in 2012 recruiting.
4. Kansas
1 of 4I really have no ill-will nor vendetta against the Jayhawks. Honestly, I just call it like I see it.
Scout.com has KU ranked as the 69th best class in the country right now. Ouch. Head coach Turner Gill has only seven recruits committed, and none of them are 4-star players.
I hear flushing with this Jayhawk class.
3. Kansas State
2 of 4OK seriously, I have no problem with the state of Kansas. It's just that K-State is ranked even lower than Kansas is (82) on the Scout.com rankings.
Head coach Bill Snyder has only six commitments, and only two of those players are even 3-star recruits. That's not good, and it certainly fits the bill of a team whose recruiting effort is spiraling down the drain.
2. Oklahoma State
3 of 4The Pokes have been hit hard by a couple staggering de-commitments. They lost 4-star ATH Bralon Addison to Texas A&M, and then 4-star LB Dalton Santos de-committed and pledged to Tennessee.
Plus, they were in on LaDarrell McNeil, but the 4-star safety prospect is firmly pledged to Tennessee.
Mike Gundy has 10 total commitments, but only one (DB/ATH Kendall Sanders) is a 4-star player.
1. Nebraska
4 of 4Big Red takes the top notch on this list, as I expected them to have a way better output this year than they've shown. Although half of the players in their class are all 4-star recruits, Nebraska still has just six total commitments.
They're ranked 60th in the country right now and you have to imagine that aside from OT Andrus Peat, they likely won't get any 5-star recruits this year.
I'm not sure how much the Cornhuskers will move up in the rankings come February 1, 2012.
