Tottenham Team News: Rafael Van Der Vaart out for 6 Weeks
As if the start of the season wasn't already bad enough for Tottenham—their opener against Everton was postponed due to riots, they recorded consecutive losses against Manchester sides and failed to sign a "big name" in the transfer window. However, things have just got a lot worse, with key playmaker Rafael van der Vaart being ruled out for six weeks with a hamstring injury.
According to Goal.com, the inspirational attacking midfielder picked up a knock in his side's 5-1 thrashing against Manchester City. During the match, van der Vaart caused a stir by simply walking off the pitch and down into the dressing sheds where he vented his anger on an unsuspecting ball in the tunnel. Harry Redknapp was adamant for his playmaker to continue, but conceded to his wishes to be brought off.

Commenting on the situation, Redknapp made it no secret that the injury will prove to be a massive blow for a side already in a difficult situation. Redknapp said "It's the last thing we need. It's a bad injury. He was in good form for us."
Next weekend Tottenham will face Wolverhampton who, surprisingly, sit on the opposite side of the table, playing brilliant football to get there. It will prove to be a real test for Mick McCarthy’s men, and for Tottenham it will be a chance to get some points on the board.
Maybe Redknapp wishes he signed that extra player in the transfer window?
