5-Star College Football Recruits Who Won't Commit Until National Signing Day
We have seen several top-notch, 5-star recruits make their commitments and end their recruitment already. A few more are primed to commit sometime this fall and even more are scheduled to announce their decisions at postseason All-Star games.
However, there are still those who will likely wait all the way until National Signing Day on February 1, 2012, to announce anything. Which 5-star recruits will they be?
Here they are.
Josh Garnett, OL
1 of 4Josh Garnett is the top OG prospect in the country, per Scout.com. He has a list of about 10 schools that are interested, including Notre Dame, Michigan, USC, Cal, Stanford, Oregon, UCLA, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Auburn.
He wants to take all five of his trips to schools out of his home state of Washington and a decision likely won't come until very late, say NSD late.
Eddie Goldman, DT
2 of 4Florida State, Alabama, Cal, Auburn, Maryland, Clemson and Miami are the top seven schools for perhaps the nation's best DT prospect.
Goldman has just trimmed his list down from 15 to his top seven and will need to trim the list down once again for his five official visits.
Almost everyone around him (and the consensus in the recruiting industry) makes it seem like his recruitment won't end until NSD.
Kwon Alexander, OLB
3 of 4I initially thought Alexander may be planning to announce at an All-Star game, but he recently told Scout.com that he is likely to wait until NSD.
Alexander has a top five of Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, LSU and Oregon. He'll take his trips to each school and feel everyone out.
Don't expect him to know who he's feeling the most until signing day, however.
Dorial Green-Beckham, WR
4 of 4Green-Beckham will likely wait until after his senior year to take his visits, which naturally will push his decision date back.
Couple that with the fact that his spotlight will get hotter when recruiting comes back into focus in January (i.e., the pressure will mount) and DGB likely will need more time to think.
There is a chance that he will wait until after signing day to make his commitment, similar to what last year's No.1 overall recruit, Jadeveon Clowney, did.
