Manchester United Transfer News: Fergie Makes Devils Winners Through Fine Summer

Sir Alex Ferguson managed to stay out of the heat this summer. He came out looking like the personification of success while his friendly rival, Arsene Wenger, came dangerously close to the axe. 

If I were to put a grade on the efforts of Manchester United, I would have to give them an A+ with thoughts of doling out some extra credit as well.

Fergie was the vision of responsibility as he shored up his biggest holes as soon as the window opened. The triumvirate to kick off the transfer season was David de Gea, Phil Jones and Ashley Young. 

Right off the bat, the middle of the field and the all-important section between the posts were taken care of. The Red Devils had everything they needed with a full summer to bask in the glory.

How very nauseating for the rest of the EPL.   

Phil Jones has been paired with Tom Cleverly to create a magnificent sight to start the season. If things continue this way, you may hear something you never thought you would at Old Trafford: "Paul Scholes who?"

David de Gea was lauded as the signing of the summer when it occurred back in June. With Edwin van der Sar's retirement, the Red Devils were demanded to bring in either a big name or one that would one day be a big name.

De Gea is the latter. You saw that his youth will be an issue in the first year. Some early hiccups raised some eyebrows with critics.

I am fully confident that the "next Iker Casillas" will settle in quite nicely as time goes on.

What will be the key to the season? Ashley Young.

He is in last year's form to start the season. United have won of the most dangerous attacks with Young on the wings. 

The rich went out and got richer this summer. These are the smart and measured moves that win you silverware.
