Arsenal FC: What Is Their Best Squad Following the Transfer Window?
This summer has been quite a long one in terms of transfers, with disasters for some teams and miracles for others. For the Gunners, it's been a bit of both, with two of Arsenal's best players departing—Cesc Fábregas and Samir Nasri.
Cesc had a desire to play for his hometown club, FC Barcelona, and he realized his dream this summer. Nasri believed that Arsenal didn't have what it takes to win trophies, so his departure from the club was confirmed earlier this summer. He traveled to Eastlands to play for Manchester City.
But it wasn't all departures from Arsenal, this summer the Gunners brought in quite a few players, such as Per Mertesacker, Andre Santos, Gervinho, Mikel Arteta and many more. Now that Arsenal have purchased some good players, how can they utilize them to create their ideal starting lineup for this season?

First off, they should have Wojciech Szczesny in goal. Despite having conceded eight goals in the game against Manchester United, he is still a solid keeper. Last season when Arsene Wenger started the Polish man in goal for the first time, Szczesny proved to be a young player with loads of potential.
In the back four, Arsenal have quite a few options. On the right side Bacary Sagna is always the perfect fit for this, he is a solid player and has quite a bit to offer going forward. In defense he makes strong tackles, and is pretty consistent. Over the summer, Arsenal brought in 19-year-old Carl Jenkinson, who plays at the right back position. He can be a good player in a few years, but he doesn't appear ready for the first team just yet.
On the left side, the Gunners' recent purchase, Andre Santos, should be a good fit. He could be a valuable asset to the team not only in defense, but he should be utilized on the left wing as well.
In the center, Thomas Vermaelan and new man, Per Mertesacker, should be a brick wall. With all this experience, Arsenal's defense should improve.
Even though Fábregas and Nasri left, Arsene's new signings should be able to fill the void. In the defensive midfield Arsenal should utilize Jack Wilshere and Alex Song because they are both pretty solid on defense, and have quite a bit to offer on the attack.
Then, a bit ahead of these two, new signing Mikel Arteta should play an attacking midfield position, as he has a lot to add to the attack in terms of passing and playmaking. Yossi Benayoun could also play in that position, as he has a lot of experience and talent to offer for the team.
The attacking aspect of this team is already quite stellar, with the likes of Theo Walcott, Gervinho, Robin van Persie and many more. Theo Walcott plays on the right wing for a reason—He is an unbelievably fast player, and with his change of pace he can pose threats to opposing teams.
Gervinho can play on either wing as he is just as effective on both sides. He can dribble inside the box and create some trickery by making a great pass that leads to a goal, or even score himself.
Up at the top of the attack, Robin van Persie has created a comfortable niche. He is a prolific goal scorer, who can create chances for his teammates or score himself. He has proven to be an attacking asset, and has benefited the Arsenal team greatly. New signing Chu Young Park could also play up front; he hasn't proven himself yet, but I'm sure he will integrate his attacking skills into this Arsenal team.
Ultimately, Arsenal can create various squads with their great players, but this is the squad that I think Arsenal will be most successful with this season.
