Diego Forlan Not Phased by Replacing Former Inter Striker Samuel Eto'o
World Cup Golden Boot winner Diego Forlan completed a move to Inter Milan during the final days of the transfer window. His signing proved to coincide with the departure of Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto'o, and already statements regarding Folarn's ability to replace Eto'o have started to circulate.
According to Goal.com, Forlan has vowed to fill the boots of Samuel Eto'o at Inter. The signing of Zarate along with the presence of Pazzini up front for Inter Milan could see Inter overtake last season's total goals scored.
In an interview about such comparisons to Samuel Eto'o, Diego Forlan responded with "Eto'o comparisons? For me it is not a problem. Eto'o is a great player, but life continues...I want to do well for the team and win. I want to show myself in Serie A as this is a competitive league...For me this a great opportunity and I thank Massimo Moratti for giving me this chance."

Forlan joined Inter Milan on a two-year deal after he decided to leave Atletico Madrid. Earlier comments by former fellow striker Sergio Aguero's agent suggested that players like Forlan were not being well respected at Atletico and were looking at leaving.
The signing of Forlan in the final few hours of the transfer market for Inter turned around what was a poor campaign to one that was respectable, given the club's situation.
