EPL Transfer News: The Silver Lining in Everton's Transfer Gloom
Well, the transfer window has once again come to a demoralising close for fans of Everton FC.
No permanent deals, a Real Madrid reject and an Argentine enigma in on loan, while Messers Yakubu, Beckford and, the best little Spaniard we know, Arteta all make a Goodison Park exit.
But hang on.

Does that really spell doom and gloom for the boys in Blue?
Let's find that silver lining (or try to anyway)!
Royston Drenthe (the best name in world football?) offers something that Everton have lacked for eons: pace.
One of the fastest players in world football, and with a mouth to match, according to YouTube rapping evidence, Drenthe could offer that wide-man outlet that Everton sorely need.
With a new winger, what do we need? A target man.
Step forward Denis Stracqualursi, all 190cm of you.
The Argentine forward was joint top scorer in the Argentine Premier League last season, scoring 11 goals including an hat-trick against Boca Juniors at the Bombonera.
Following some web-trawling, it seems that the Argentine Big Dunc is respected in South America.
Moyes has obviously seen in him that fabled ability to hold up the ball, a prized asset with the one-man front line the Scotsman employs, but Stracqualursi also offers good feet and an ability to score goals.
Of course, both Beckford and Arteta will be missed while Yakubu was a fringe player at best but Everton could have made the best of a bad situation.
Judgement must be reserved until the players have been given time to adjust to Premier League football.
What is worrying about Arteta's departure is the domino effect that could follow.
With the creative force of the midfield off to greener (or redder) pastures, will Baines and Jagielka be persuaded to do the same come January?
If Everton do not have a strong first half of the season, expect more players out when January rolls around. And with the links that have been floating around this transfer window, expect Arsenal to benefit once more.
So we must wait.
It is currently 12:48 a.m. on September 1st in Liverpool—these may be prophetic rumblings or the one fan clinging to hope.
By January, we will have an answer.
