Newcastle United Transfer Rumours: Action as Transfer Window Deadline Nears
It looks like the last two days of the transfer window are going to be very busy for Newcastle United.
After a frustrating summer for both Alan Pardew and the Newcastle supporters, there should be some good news with several transfers rumored to be imminent.

Davide Santon from Inter Milan is on Tyneside having a medical and is expected to complete a £5 million deal. He can play right-back and left-back and is thought to be the promised replacement for Jose Enrique.
Bizarrely, rumours suggest that Newcastle have two goalkeepers undergoing medicals today. Newcastle have been well stocked in this area, but both Rob Elliot of Charlton and Petr Bolek of FK Senica are allegedly on Tyneside.
The most urgently required signing on Tyneside is a striker, and three are currently being linked. A £7 million move for Modibo Maiga hangs in the balance while Papiss Demba Cisse has been mentioned and stories are also emerging of a loan move for Frederico Macheda of Manchester United.
Candidates to replace Joey Barton include Yossi Benayoun from Chelsea and Sulley Muntari from Inter Milan though I'd be very surprised if either of these moves materialized.
Who's Out
There are reports this morning that Nile Ranger's proposed move to Blackpool may be back on, and with two new goalkeepers seemingly set to arrive at Newcastle, Steve Harper may well leave the club before the deadline.
If Newcastle can seal deals for Santon, Macheda and one of their other striking targets without losing any more key players, then Alan Pardew can be optimistic of a decent season.
