Italian Serie A Start Postponed Due to Player Strike
Last week we heard the concerns of the Spanish La Liga players, which ultimately resulted in the postponement of the first round of La Liga matches. This week we can look forward to hearing about how the football players in Italy are treated unfairly, along with a whole load of other issues, which will see countless Serie A fans deprived of the chance to watch their favourite team in action (myself included).
According to Goal.com the Italian Players Association, Italian Football Federation and Lega Calcio could not come to an agreement regarding the issues brought up by players and coaches alike.

"The biggest talking point is the so-called article seven about players who are deemed surplus to requirements by their coaches. AIC insists that those players should be allowed to train with the rest of the squad, while the clubs want autonomy for the coaches.
"
The president of the Players Association Damiano Tommasi said "There will be no Serie A this weekend. We tried right up until the end, but ultimately all the talks were in vain,"
Also a major talking point was the idea of the new tax imposed by the Italian Government about wages in excess of €90,000. Clubs have proposed that players be made to pay the tax, obviously the AIC does not agree with this extra tax, and have been unable to reach an agreement.
Ultimately only the fan will lose out on this dispute, at least we can turn to the La Liga and EPL for our weekly football fix.
