Arsenal vs. Udinese: Aaron Ramsey and Gervinho Star in Classy Gunners Victory
Aaron Ramsey and Gervinho were the standout performers in Arsenal's impressive 2-1 victory over Udinese.
Ramsey silenced his critics, this author included, with a composed and measured performance. Gervinho justified Arsene Wenger's arduous pursuit of him with a dazzlingly skillful display.

But tonight Ramsey provided real encouragement that he will be able to assume the mantle of Fabregas. Ramsey was confident and efficient with the ball and orchestrated Arsenal's cultured passing play.
He has produced more spectacular showings during his short Arsenal career, but if Ramsey becomes the inventive hub of Wenger's young team, this will be viewed as his coming-of-age performance.
Gervinho was Arsenal's most dangerous player in Northern Italy. Every time he received the ball Gervinho threatened to break free of the Udinese back line.
His quick footwork, pace and excellent balance have given Arsenal a weapon they have been lacking for too long.
The Ivorian set up Robin van Persie's crucial equaliser after some fluid control and intricate ball skills. Gervinho continues to confound with his unpredictable decision-making, but he also still displays clever movement and makes incisive runs.
Honourable mention must also go to Tomas Rosicky. The frustratingly brittle Czech schemer was imperious after entering the game as a second-half substitute.
Rosicky was assertive in the tackle and direct in possession. His calmness and creativity allowed Arsenal to return to their free-flowing best for the final 45 minutes.
For the first time this season, the Gunners produced their sharp passing game and always posed a goal-scoring threat.
There is still work to be done. The fragility of the current lineup still does not bode well for Sunday's trip to Old Trafford.
But tonight, at least, Arsenal showed signs that they remain capable of winning crucial matches with their brand of stylish football.
